The best was the Caesar salad and wings! So, so good! The Crunchwrap was ok, and the cookie dough ice cream was also just ok. I definitely plan to go back as the service and food was excellent!

My husband and I came here for lunch on a Friday and found a very busy restaurant.
I got the breakfast burger with fries and my husband got the chicken sandwich with a side of salad with vinaigrette, and we shared a chocolate shake. We also grabbed one of their coffee cakes to go for later. I had really wanted to try the chicken fried oyster mushrooms, but they were out by the time we arrived, sadly. The burger and sandwich were both very satisfying, and the fries were wonderfully seasoned (I think it might be Old Bay seasoning or something similar, it was definitely a familiar flavor) with a good crispy outside and a fluffy interior. Even my husband, who is not a potato fan, was stealing some fries! (Stealing a bit of his salad is not the same level of excitement, let me tell you, but it was a good vinaigrette and it was really fresh.) I didn't get a bite of husband's sandwich, but my burger was flavorful and filling. The chocolate shake was thick and delicious, as well. We had the coffee cake later (with coffee, naturally), and it was excellent and cinnamon-y, and even had some apple bits in it, which was a pleasant surprise.
The location itself is pretty modern and clean. You order up front and then get your number and sit down somewhere. The service in general was pretty good, although it did take a little time for someone to come over to the cash register to take our order and he seemed a little annoyed, so I am not sure if we broke some unspoken rule or something known to the regulars with the way we approached.
We do try to do a day in the twin cities each time we make a trip to Minnesota to see my husband's family, so we're almost certain to be back again on the next trip! Hopefully next time we manage to catch those fried mushrooms before they sell out!

Traveled to St. Paul this summer and found J Selby's on Happy Cow. I actually went the twice in one day as I was so excited to find a well rated vegan restaurant. First visit I ordered a bowl of Chili and the Community Bowl. I really like chili and will usually order it if it is on the menu and J Selby's chili was fantastic. I absolutely recommend. I also enjoyed the Community Bowl with one (in my opinion) glaring problem and that is that the tofu (which is probably my favorite food) was fried and flavorless to the point I didn't eat it all. If I could give one recommendation to the restaurant it would be to try some new ways to prepare their tofu.
One my second visit I ordered a Solo Burger with Animal Fries and a chocolate chip cookie to go as I took them to the Minnesota United soccer match (which they will not allow you to take inside). The burger was great the Animal fries were a little much for me (I couldn't finish them) and sadly the chocolate chip cookie was one of most flavorless cookie I have ever eaten.
All in all, the food that I liked, I really liked and that is certainly enough for me to highly recommend this restaurant.

i’ve been coming here off and on for years and every single time it’s so good. my favorites are the caesar salad, mel’s wrap, gyro, chicken sandwich, cauliflower wings. you couldn’t go wrong, it’s all great!

Excellent food. I got a burger, and it was definitely a step up in quality from other vegan burger places. Really clean, natural light, great place to eat.
This place used to sell real food with quality ingredients. Now it’s all garbage faux meat made of unrecognizable things. With blah flavor. This place gets rated well because it is vegan only. Not because it is good, affordable, or offers any service. French meadow can’t be rated 5 stars because it sells meat. But, their healing plate tastes great and I can see what I am eating and it costs less or the same as here and it comes with service.

J Selby's has a very nice, well put together, and comfy atmosphere. The staff are friendly and greets you with a smile. My first time eating here I had the wings. They were very tasty and I liked the homemade ranch, the fries were just fries. My second time I placed a pick up order that they charge 15% gratuity "for servers" (as stated on their website). I called about removing gratuity for pickup orders but they said no, they divvy it up between all employees. 🙄 I scheduled my order an hour out to pick up on my work break, but I got there and still had to wait an additional 10 minutes, not sure why since the food was luke warm... I immediately tried mozz sticks to try while "hot", the texture of the cheese inside, I couldn't deal 🥴. The steak sandwich was good - the meat texture is on point, they just forgot the "cheese" I ordered on it. Overall, the 2nd visit was overpriced and they under-delivered. $32 for mozz sticks that weren't edible and a Philly steak sandwich (no cheese) w/fries. Super disappointed, but I'll still try other items on the menu here and there when I have time to dine in. They have a large menu and the only completely plant-based restaurant that I could find in the area.
Parking: It's on the corner of a fairly busy street, limited parking.
