Disappointing Experience at Moscow on the HillMy recent visit to Moscow on the Hill left much to be desired, despite the promising start with exceptional appetizers. The Moscow fries and Borscht were undeniably fantastic, especially the latter, which exceeded all expectations with its rich flavors and hearty texture. However, the decline in quality became evident with our main courses. Opting for the beef stroganoff and the only vegan option available, Gavitch?, I was left underwhelmed. The vegan dish lacked the depth of flavor expected from a well-crafted dish, and the beef stroganoff fell flat, lacking the richness and complexity one would anticipate. To salvage the stroganoff, I ordered a 5oz side of beef to enhance its taste, but even this addition failed to elevate the dish to a satisfactory level.Regrettably, the disappointing culinary experience was compounded by subpar customer service. Our waiter seemed distracted, prioritizing personal conversations over attending to our needs. Despite multiple attempts to catch his attention for drink refills, we were left neglected for prolonged periods, detracting significantly from the overall dining experience. In summary, while Moscow on the Hill showed promise with its appetizers, the lackluster main dishes and inadequate service left a negative impression. With unauthentic flavors and indifferent customer care, this visit failed to live up to expectations.

Chebureki was delicious. Dumplings were a bit plain and overcooked. The drink white knight was very strong but tasty. The tiramisu was light and creamy, I liked the flavor a lot. Overall we had a great time there and enjoyed the food. Service was excellent, will definitely go back to try other things.

If you're up for expanding your palate and experiencing some unique Russian-European cuisine, this is the place for you. There weren't a ton of menu items that jumped out at us as "ooohhh, that sounds good", but that's our lack of exposure to this type of food. But we were not disappointed with what we ordered - chicken Kiev, cabbage rolls and cheese bread.Chicken kiev and veggies were fantastic. The master potatoes had the blended, creamy consistency of instant potatoes. I can't imagine that's what a place like this does, but it sure closely resembles a box mix I've made at home.Service was excellent, experience was excellent and the mule variations were also excellent.Branch out and check this place out!

The best borscht ive ever had. (and only but that doesn't matter.) i literally couldnt sleep last night because i was craving it so bad. so don't go, unless you want to be craving it for the rest of your life. Dumplings were very good as well! The guy walking around playing accordian added to the vibe too

The food was amazing. The beef stroganoff was out of this world. Service was great and the atmosphere was super. If you enjoy Authentic Russian food this is the place for you. The horseradish infused vodka was great

Wierd stuff Mn

I don’t recommend it, the borscht is just sweet slush, the dumplings resemble those from the store... it’s a shame that you consider yourself Russian

Since the Robbinsdale vodka bar shut down, we’ve been searching for another place that offers incredible martinis and was super hopeful that Moscow on the hill would be that spot.

Last visit, we ordered just the tirimisu to go. Unfortunately, there was a giant piece of plastic in it.

My wife and we're looking for a bit of diversion from our normal routine of dining out, so on a whim I made reservations here. I might add that one of the main reasons for coming here was that they take reservations! There are many places we would have liked to have visited but the unknown wait time (if you get in at all) doesn't set right with me in trying to plan an evening outWell, we knew nothing about Russian/Ukrainian food and our waiter was a HUGE help explaining the plates and Vodkas available. We started with some dumplings (Vareniki) and a Vodka flight which consisted of 3 spicy and 3 sweet vodkas. He made note to us that the spicy 'horseradish' infused Vodka was their most popular. I like horseradish so I enjoyed that one!My wife ordered "Grandma's Golubsty" (some large cabbage rolls) and I had a special dish comprised of dumplings and mushrooms with strips of sirloin steak. This was in a gravy bath and was fantastic!!We were even entertained by Valeriy Saakian (accordion) as he roamed from table to table.Overall experience was extremely fun and different. I guess I would ultimately compare Russian food as a close relative to German cuisine. We WILL return!!! Many more dishes to explore.Parking: The restaurant is right next to the YWCA and you can park in their lot but it is a $5 charge you can pay in the restaurant.

This was the first time I have been to MOTH (my new favorite acronym) and it was AMAZING. I have been working on my Genealogy/family tree and I have family from Russia/Ukraine on my father's side and this was all very interesting and cool. We were there for a family birthday dinner, I ordered the vareniki, which I absolutely adored (dumplings are my favorite) and then Chicken Kiev for my entree. We also had Moscow Fries and the majority of the table tried the Borscht, which everyone loved but I will have to try on my next trip. I also want to try the stuffed cabbage rolls. My husband had the beef stroganoff. Delicious!Vegetarian options: Borscht, Vareniki Dumplings, Moscow Fries
