Welp... I s'pose it's time to leave. For good this time. Every other experience I've had at Shar'els Cafe has been great, and I thought this would be a great place for a fun family reunion... But I was proven wrong, because this time the waitress (I don't know her name because she never introduced herself, but she had a long grey ponytail braid,) was super loud and rude. She started out by insulting my father's (A U.S. Air Force Veteran) intelligence, and serving him the biscuits and gravy that looked like watery gruel, topped with a severely undercooked egg. My waitress then proceeded to bully my aunt for being hard of hearing and yelled at her to "get it together" because my aunt couldn't hear a mumbled question. I am of the opinion that needless aggression against customers should not be tolerated in Midwestern food service, no matter the personal lives of service workers. To reiterate: Me and my family will not be dining here again.

Wheelchair accessibility: Single floor business attached to the parking lot, so no ramps needed. Small inside, so a bit tight between tables.

Got the roast beef lunch special and was very disappointed. Roast beef was thin sliced salty deli meat with tasteless mashed potatoes and watered down beef gravy. Do it right or take it off your menu. Breakfast is good though.

Hashbrowns tasted like cardboard, they are clearly dehydrated potatoes which are not suitable for the grill. I ordered crisp bacon, and got rubber in a pool of grease. Not ever going back. Yuk!

This is a neighborhood diner with many faithful locals, a mostly older American style menu. Seems family run with good prompt service, friendly cheer and think they strive for a homey atmosphere and being not too fancy. Food portions are generous and compliments to the chef, the eggs benedict with hollandaise sauce and hashbrowns was competently prepped and served.
