I had a poor experience when I went with the bartender who had pink hair. It’s not what she said it’s how she said it - ruthless.

The fried pickles and cowboy burger were both excellent. Get a side of truffle tots!

Not from the area and this place was recommended by a local. I stopped in for a quick lunch. The bartender greeted me immediately and was prompt to get me a drink as I decided. I got the fish and chips which arrived immediately. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. I was checked on by the bartender multiple times. The atmosphere appeared to be clean and open. I was shocked to see not as much people as expected over the lunch hour. I highly recommend eating here.

Parking: I would never blame parking on a private business. This is solely the responsibility of the local government in the area of this establishment.

I went to The Bulldog a couple times for dinner and left satisfied. It has a patio next to Mears Park so you can enjoy a meal outside. Their namesake cheeseburger is great and hit the spot after a long day of travel.

The second time I had the poutine with shredded pot roast. The pot roast made it the best poutine I've ever had. I also had the walleye sandwich. It was a nice big pan-seared fillet on a sub roll - flaky and delicious.

There is a good selection of beer, including local brews.

The service was friendly and fast.

I'll be back if I'm ever in St. Paul again.

I asked for an edit on the menu because I just wasn’t feeling healthy! I wanted a crispy California sandwich and they made it happen!

Was in town for work. Asked hotel employees where they would eat locally and they pointed the way to here. So happy they did. Was with various coworkers and each of our meals did not disappoint. Returned a few more times before leaving town. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Pot roast plate tasted homemade. Seasoned tater tots were a hit.

Food was delicious. Our party of four had burgers and hot dogs and, two days later, we were still talking about how delicious everything was. Service was, also, fantastic. We will definitely be back soon.

This was a staple while we visited St Paul for a week. It's a very low key bar, with an excellent menu. We were pleased with everything we got, and staff were quick and friendly.

Photographed is the Seattle dog that had no right being as good as it was
