The Donut Trap - Retail & Patio

The best part about this Donut Trap location is that every flavor is available (the machines run out of certain flavors). They even have special limited flavors. The pumpkin spice donut was awesome. Friendly employee working and plenty of flavors to choose from. These are some of the best cake donuts around!

Got a ‘Compton’ donut (pb & oreo) at an airport vending machine. Fresh & delicious and no waiting in line - It was excellent!

Edited to update: owner got back to me within less than a day of me leaving this review claiming that they were locked out of their FB business platform. I'm skeptical, but at least they made it right. Running a small business isn't easy.

Sub-par customer service, sadly. Decided to try one from the vending machine and it gave me the wrong one (right next to the correct one). Figured I'd try once more with that one and it gave me a whole other doughnut.

I tried emailing the owner, but the email apparently isn't set up yet. Got in touch on Facebook and they replied quickly asking for information to make things right and issue me a refund. They never read that message and haven't read my follow up message. Also called once through there and through their phone number and left a message. The amount isn't much, but it was a bummer to have a quick response only to then be ignored four times since then. Feel free to reach out of you read your reviews and still want to make it right. You have all of my info in FB messenger.

Awesome location, true hidden gem

Great hidden gem in St. Paul!

Went here for the first time the other week and had a great experience. The donuts we got were excellent and the atmosphere was really nice. The person serving us was really cool and friendly. Even asked about the band T-shirt I was wearing and put on some of the music by them. Will definitely go back.

Mama here with some addendums to my ten year old’s review below. I’m not saying don’t go here - I think it’s a super fun concept and adorable space. I am saying don’t go here with a ten year old who’s expecting donuts. They are much more like muffins or coffee cake than donuts. We got to try their ice cream at a neighborhood event and it was top notch so we’ll absolutely be back for that. Support queer and BIPOC owned business! And hooray for vegan options! But tricky when you have an idea of what a donut is and this isn’t it!

Now from the kid:

I had a horrible time here. These weren’t even real donuts. They were like muffins, but wet and the frosting was bad and I really did not enjoy my time there. It was a cute spot, but did not have real donuts. they didn’t even have a hole. It was like a hole on the bottom, but it didn’t go through to the top. My strongest complaint is that these weren’t even real donuts. I am never ever going there again. and actually, please listen. I think these are good donuts if you’ve never had a doughnut before and maybe if you’re vegan. which I am not. once again, strongest complaint weren’t real donuts. By the kid, Age 10

Best dang donuts I've had, I swear! Regardless of the donuts being vegan (big score for vegans), they're tasty, moist, thick cake donuts. Paired excellent with coffee! The staff are always friendly, customer service is great, and communication about orders and wait time is excellent here.

Don't sleep on this place, they're amazing!

I ordered six of the vegan donuts, and they were phenomenal! Each one had a unique topping, and they were all absolutely delicious. I'm from out of town, but I'll definitely stop by again the next time I'm in the area.

This place has a wonderful ambience and is tucked away in a cozy corner of the neighborhood. Not to mention that the donuts are delicious!!! I definitely make it a point to come here whenever I can:)
