Long wait. Food is decent and well-priced. Nothing fancy.

Good, but not worth all the hype. Too much sugar. Not enough fruit.
Friendly efficient service.
Too crowded and touristy in the summer.

Average food at best. We had two different pie slices ($6 and slices are small). Crust was nothing special..and taste was simply so-so. Wife had a brisket sandwich as her lunch (dripping with oil), and I had a Tomato-pepper-cheese soup - again so-so. Total = $36 for lunch (plus $10 tip) and they add a 2.5% service charge for using a card. I'd say you would do better at McDonald's for lunch...and if you don't expect much of the pie, you will be fine. On the positive side, the cafe has a nice (distant) view of the lake, and the bird feeders just outside the windows have Red-breasted Nuthatch, many Black-capped Chickadees and a Red Squirrel (among others). We visited in Feb 2025 and would not return again.

The food was very good and the pie was excellent. The service on the other hand was very subpar. And the ambiance is definitely wonderful if they could change there outlook on tourists it would be better.

Great pies to-go. Got engaged at Split Rock and got pies here on the way back to Duluth to celebrate! Ate them the next day too. Crumble top pies were our fave. We went with the Great Lakes slice.

A must stop if you are in the area. We had hamburgers and obviously a piece or two of pie. So delicious!

Honestly, it’s very mid. I tried 3 different kinds of the pie and none of it was very flavorful. Not as good as I was hoping. A Marie Callender’s pie honestly is better. I’m bummed.

Honestly, pies were not good. Ingredients were commercial in nature and it was badly made.
Banana Cream Pie used Green Banana's and the crust tasted like wet cardboard and it had the texture of thin paper pulp. It wasn't even brown, which indicates under baking.
Wife had the Great Lakes, again pie crust wasn't baked properly, crumble on top was okay, but the fruit wasn't a consistent size. She pulled our a huge chunk of apple that was under baked, yet in the same slice there was smaller baked apple pieces.
There is no love in these pies...sad.

It’s a bit touristy. Stopped for the pie. It was the best.
Great service. Great food. Adorable atmosphere. It definitely pays to go in the winter. You get to enjoy all of what Betty's Pies has to offer without waiting in lines. And of course, we had to get pie to go because we were too full to enjoy it in the moment.
