We had smoked salmon when in Alaska and have not found a good place to have it since; so when we found out about lou's we decided to pop in and get some. The young man worked was very helpful, talked us thru the different kinds, let us do some samples and decided on the Sugar Salmon. Also picked up some cheese curds as you can't get those in TX. Can't wait to eat it.
I was delighted to see that Lou's is reopened. In it's first go-'round, I discovered that Lou's ' smoked fish is the closest to my memory of the smoked whitefish made by my great-uncles when I was a 3-yr. old. We go to Grand Portage every year (pandemic excluded) and after buying a fresh supply of wild rice from the tribal rivers we buy smoked fish from Lou's. (Smoked fish and wild rice? My idea of a lunch served in Heaven).

The place looked attractive. The service was great. We tred some smoked shrimp from the Mexican Gulf and were not very impressed, Didn't buy any smoked fish, it looked good but much pricier than at other place
