We drove right by another famous restaurant on the recommendation of another. Long wait on a very busy Saturday. Well worth the wait. Good entrees, excellent pie. And we made it to Lutsen with 2 minutes to spare.

Rustic Inn Cafe is a must-stop along the North Shore, offering phenomenal food every time. The Reuben and cranberry wild rice bread are favorites, along with the amazing onion rings. The walleye fish tacos are delicious, and the pies like peanut butter and caramel apple pecan are must-tries. Easily the best pie on the north shore, from fruit pies to cream pies. The friendly staff provides exceptional food and a sandwich/soup and pie special for a reasonable price. A beautiful gift shop with an assortment of items and artwork for sale adds to the experience. It is a great location after a day at Gooseberry Falls and a top choice for outstanding meals and pies worth the drive.
