Ordering at the door before you find a seat is a different experience, not sure the benefit, but it was fine. Had the Friday Walleye fish fry and it was so tender, it was a little hard to handle & fell apart trying to get it in my mouth. It was delicious but a little spendy for a single fillet, fries and slaw. All in all, It was a fun night.
I stopped by here to eat at about 5:30pm on Jan 2, 2026. I grabbed a paper menu. I ordered the Blackened Walley which included two sides. The price on the menu, for this, was $26. I need a low carb diet; so for my one side, that option was the asparagus and onions. I could not find another low carb side so I asked the girl if I could double my first side. She said yes. The Boat House Restaurant is such a unique establishment! This is a staple of Winona, MN. If they take this away I will not step foot in Winona County again. The view of the river is unbeatable. There are no other restaurants on the river, so it is one of a kind!
