Absolutely phenomenal - must go
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner - the service & food were excellent!
Root is the right name for this restaurant. Because you get rooted if you eat there. 18 bucks for a bland quarter pound cheeseburger and potato chips. 15 bucks for four medium sized chicken nuggets and potato chips. My wife couldn't finish the chicken because it started upsetting her stomach. They are overly friendly, to the point you know it's fake. Tourist trap. Mcdonald's would have been a better choice.
This was our first visit to Root and it will not be our last! Charming, sumptuous, a hidden gem! Chef Phillip and his staff made the evening a delight. Dillon’s cosmo and VFW were a great start. Each coarse of the meal was a delicious, artistic adventure. Zack was a delightful and knowledgeable server as was all of the staff. You will not be disappointed to venture out to beautiful wine country and this hidden treat!!
Two days after my meal, I’m still completely captivated by the experience. Root offers an unparalleled dining journey that rivals the finest three-star restaurants, yet with prices that remain astonishingly reasonable for the exceptional quality of food, beverages, and service provided. Every aspect of the meal—flawless presentation, expert pairings, and impeccable service—felt like a masterclass in culinary excellence. If you’re a lover of fine dining, this is an absolute must-visit. I’m already eagerly anticipating my next dinner at Root, knowing it will be just as extraordinary as the last.
We stopped in during the Christmas Candlelight walk. We were not fortunate to know in advance so we did not have dinner, however, the staff was incredible. The ambiance was awesome and we can't wait to go back this spring to enjoy dinner outside!
We had an outstanding dinner. And they could really do gluten free.

Amazing food and the service was spectacular. Some of the friendliest staff and the food was mind blowing. Some things were a little overpowering with the honeycomb but still super amazing

We totally enjoyed our first time experience at Root Food and Wine! Service fantastic, food fantastic, if you are looking to try something different, then try this restaurant! Food and wine pairings were perfection…
We arrived in Augusta by bicycle on our KATY Trail expedition and stayed at a local B&B (also fantastic). We did not know what to expect on arrival. What we found was 5 stars all the way. This is a lovely restaurant located in a converted home. The rooms have a few tables and are not cramped - a big plus for me. The decorations are minimal, but very nice and the place was very clean. We were greeted warmly by the staff, well informed about the food, and had our questions answered. Being a foodie, I was not expecting the extent of the knowledge of our wait staff -- made my mouth water with just the descriptions. This is a small plate restaurant. We made the mistake of only getting the 3-course pre-fix meal. We should have gotten the 5-course meal. The food is beautiful - delicious - and perfectly prepared. My wife got the trout dish as our protein. I have fished for trout for years and have found even wild-caught trout bland - NOT HERE. I don't regret getting the Wagyu Beef (I would have eaten the entire steak it was so good); but wish I had also gotten trout. Appetizers and desserts were surprisingly simple in appearance, but complex and delicious. We have notified friends about this restaurant and will be bringing others with us next time.

Quaint little restaurant in Augusta! My girlfriends and I had a wonderful day visiting a few wineries in the area and finished with Dinner at Root. The service and ambiance were fantastic. Chef came out at the end to say hello, which I always love, especially with a tasting menu. Portions are VERY small and the menu rotates based on what’s in season. Our favorite was the Eclair on the staters menu. I absolutely loved the pork belly. The dessert I chose was a miss for me, as the honeycomb was way over powering and a bit peppery. Overall, if you are in Augusta, or looking to break up your winery weekend, this is a great spot to check out
