“Arrived on a weekend shortly before closing (I know food places love that). I could see the whole counter but there were no donuts. The woman working said they had sold out and were closed. My life flashed before my eyes and I started to tear up. The woman, confused and vaguely afraid, produced a white box from somewhere, indicating it was all she had left. A whole family was approaching, so I said I'd buy them all, sight unseen. Just then the family came in; it was a couple with their beautiful grandchildren, ready to make sweet memories. I got to say "they're closed" and I'm not even the littlest bit sorry. I opened the box in my truck and found half a dozen perfect donuts. I contemplated about my missing husband and grandchildren and began feeding to self soothe. Possibly not the healthiest coping method but definitely the most delicious. This was a victory for singles everywhere, plus I found a fave donut shop. In the words of Michael Scott: it was a win-win-win.“

“Best donuts in KC. I have been eating here my entire life (38 years) and still choose them over anywhere else. The owner makes all the donuts himself. The staff is the same since it opened and they are inviting, so kind and happy to be there. Couldn’t ask for a better experience.“

“Over the past decade ive been eating at Daylight Donuts, i always had a problem with how much frosting they put on top. Its way too little. Sometimes you take a bite and you end up filling your mouth with dough.

Went back here a couple weeks ago and it was the same. The frosting is really good too, why not put more on there?

But aside from that, this restaurant has really friendly staff and decent atmosphere. Donuts are also really good despite the issue i already discussed. A good 4 stars. It mightve improved since our last visit, but i havent came back yet.“

“The absolute BEST bakery I’ve ever been to. I have taken both my sisters who claim to hate pastries and now I have converted them all thanks to this place. Also the most affordable breakfast spot.“

“Small place but super clean. Ordering was simple and food prepared quick. Holy heck was it good, and we ordered from all over the menu. Biscuits were amazing, biscuit beignets great, and cheesy grits with chicken and sauce were stellar. Absolutely will be going back.“

He made us both feel welcome and answered all our questions and had great recs. Hooked us up with blueberry muffin protein powder, yummy meals, and little bite snacks! We will definitely be back! “I like to try places that look interesting at least once and give the benefit of the doubt. The mochinuts were good and they had some nice flavors. They had a promotion for the day if you bought half a dozen you got free ice cream. The individuals behind the counter were also friendly.“
