“I grew up eating Lamar donuts at the original spot on lindwood in Kansas City Mo. I remember walking in and noticing this guy who was so nice selling the donuts. After you gone in so many times he knew your favs and wouldn't even ask you what you wanted. Then you open your bag and your favs are in the bag plus half dozen of glaze donut holes. Next time I go in I say I don't want any holes in my bag today I need to lose weight Mr. Lamar's would say you shouldn't have come in here look at me. We both bust out laughing. I love the glaze but my favs now are the blue berry cake donuts, apple spice or sometimes it's just the plain cake with a cup of coffee the way my grand mother would love to eat LaMars.“

“The apple fritters are AMAZING! I am also a huge fan of their pudding filled chocolate covered long johns. I was just there, right after new owners bought the place. I love the friendly faces and the younger generation helping behind the counter. The dining room is opened up and we finally got to sit in there as a family. Highly recommend.Kid-friendliness: They have a cute children's menu that the little ones can doodle on, play tic tac toe, and do a maze or word search.“
“Our softball team had donuts here after their last game of the season. The donuts were super tasty, and the people were so incredibly nice. Great service, great donuts.... couldn't ask for more! I live on the Kansas side, but will make a point to stop here whenever I am close.“

But step inside, and boom! It's a doughnut superhero lair. The place might be tiny, but it's like a TARDIS, packing flavor that transcends dimensions. The doughnuts are so good; I suspect they've made a deal with sugar fairies. I'd recommend this spot even to my dentist – it's worth the risk of future cavities.“

“My son & I come here, religiously! Like clockwork, every Monday or Tuesday. We show up and order the same thing! He loves his donut balls whilst I love the glaze & strawberry cake donut (if/when they have strawberry avail if not, blueberry it is). Hubs loves his banana donut. Weekends, we'll typically order a large box for the family (grandma & grandpa love Lamar's as well)! Every time we get there, he knows the drill. He'll get his 1 free donut hole while we wait for the rest of our order. The staff are warm & friendly.“

“While I am well aware of the fact that you need to be at big daddy's early early to get the good stuff, my wife and I went thru at about 8:30am and there was only some donut holes and a couple left to choose from. The lady was nice and the time was late, but I can't give five stars... So if you go really early I am sure you will have better selection and probably a better day as a result lol. “Great donuts! A coworker brings donuts to the office every Thursday and this week she changed from the usual donut shop and brought a box from Baxter's instead. All the donuts we got were yeast donuts. I tried a glazed twist, cinnamon sugar twist, vanilla frosted long John, and a German chocolate long John. The German Chocolate donut was delicious! I've seen this type as a cake donut before, but never as a yeast donut. By the time I got to the office there was 1/3 of a German chocolate left, so I'm assuming it was a long John or large bar shaped donut. I would definitely get this again. I had a couple bites of the glazed twist and sugar twist throughout the day and really enjoyed the cinnamon sugar twist. I did notice that these were pretty dried out by the end of the day, though, as people cut bites off of them throughout the day. The vanilla iced long John (white icing) is not something I've tried before, but there was a whole one left at the end of the day, so I took it home for dessert. Even though it hadn't been cut into at all, it was starting to get a bit dry and stiff by 8pm at night, so these are definitely best eaten as soon as possible. If you're a fan of coconut, try the German chocolate!“
