When Mike owned and operated Burgher Haus for many decades, they stayed open later and opened earlier. The service was personal and friendly. I went to Burgher Haus a few weeks after his son took over the and the food was more expensive, the servings were smaller, and the quality was just not very good. The first time I ate here I was REALLY impressed! I am a fan of patty melts but the 2nd time I ate one from here I was really disappointed. There was a VERY tangy sauce on my patty melt that made it not taste like a patty melt at all. The staff was a younger crowd so maybe that was the problem If I do go back, it will be earlier in the day.

I found this marvellous place on my 3 1/2 hour road trip home one day and It is amazing!!The people here are so kind and personable!
