This is the kind of restaurant Cape needs but probably won't keep open.Vegan fare but you can easily eat there with carnivores. The food we had was fantastic.Hope to see the doors open my next trip home. It was a refreshing "non-Cape" alternative to the normal deep fried pizza chicken cheese tater skin restaurant scene that is Southeast Missouri.

I have a consistent habit of waking up in a hotel, picking up my phone and just searching Google Maps for "vegan food near me". I didn't actually expect anything to stand out while in Cape Girardeau, but I was pleasantly surprised to find Trio. The restaurant itself is pleasant with window seating and a cool atmosphere, and when we arrived the owner introduced himself to my wife and I. There seemed to be a new staff member in training who he was working with, but they were both very friendly and polite and made some recommendations and offered assistance should we need it and promptly entered out order. We both ordered house drinks that were at our table quickly, and the turn around time for the kitchen was very good.I personally went with the Earl Grey tea drink that had subtle hits of berry and vanilla and was served in a French press. Our food was incredible. While I'm vegan, my wife is not and is usually unsure about trying fully plant based dishes but she was thrilled with the sweet potato tacos she had. I had the breakfast tacos and biscuits and gravy and loved both. I also finished off my wife's tacos and found them to be just as good.Cool vibes, friendly owner and staff, the restaurant is very clean as is the kitchen that you can see into, food was quick and fresh, and their custom spin on traditional drinks were all good. Definitely something I'll be eating next time I visit the city.Dietary restrictions: All plant based, vegan options. While I've eaten a lot of vegan tacos, and a lot of vegan food from many different places over the years in general, this is definitely one of the best vegan restaurants I've found. This place is perfect if you personally stick to a vegan or near vegan diet, or just want to try something different. Based on the variety of dishes and drinks I tried I suspect there is no bad choices on the menu, even if dining here with omnivore friends.

Shane the owner was the server and cook on my visit so everything was exceptional. Super friendly guy who cares about his craft which was evident in the food and service. I had the Jackfruit Tacos and they were up there with my favorite taco place in Stuart FL which is saying a lot. If I didn't know I would think I was eating pulled Pork tacos. Warm house made chips and salsa and Blue Mermaid Matcha Tea. I will definitely be back to explore more of the menu. If you are in Cape Girardeau you should stop in and grab some vegan food or a hot or iced tea. The Blue Mermaid changed colors when I added the lemon so that was fun.

Excellent plant-based restaurant! The hostess gave us wonderful suggestions....we tried the sweet potato tacos and the macho nachos. Both were outstanding. Atmosphere was peaceful, even as they got busy. If we lived nearby, we would be frequent customers.

We were traveling through MO and did an internet search…and stumbled upon Trio. The cashier was so friendly and made great suggestions. We ordered the sweet potato tacos and the macho nachos. Both were great, but the tacos were outstanding. If we lived nearby we would be frequent visitors.
