We were travelling through Carrollton on our way to Lexington and joined the lunchtime crowd. Although fast paced service, there wasn't the feeling of a rush. The food was delicious and were back on highway 24 satiated.
We were craving good Mexican cuisine. We usually eat at our favorite, but we moved a few month ago. So it's a much farther drive. I noticed that el Torro was only 25 minutes away and remembered that they had done some extensive remodeling. The chips and salsa weee fresh and crisp. Not oily. The rice was fluffy and tender. The chicken was super moist and had a hint of fresh squeezed lime. My husbands shrimp popped when be boy into them. We are definitely returning. A new favorite.

The food was good and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and attentive. The nachos were the biggest hit with our family (especially with shrimp, yum!).The bathrooms were clean, but there was a bit of a gap in the door to the women's bathroom, which just happens to be right by the entrance.
