The noise level is unacceptable. We couldn’t easily have a conversation. This can be remedied. Why not do something about improving the acoustics? You could Google it!
Ivy Cafe has become a regular weekly stop! Their lattes are amazing, with awesome seasonal specials (and the coffee cubes a must), plus I never leave without a muffin or almond cookie when ordering from the bar/counter. The atmosphere when you walk in immediately invites you to stay and is super cozy, great for when you want a place to work outside of the office or are catching up with a friend. The team is always super friendly and the food is always delicious!

One of my favorite places for brunch, coffee, and even dinner. This is a woman owned restaurant with a beautiful ambiance and delicious food. Service is great and I enjoyed my meal there.

Great place for a relaxing morning with some girlfriends. We shared several tartines. The Pershing and the Buckingham were my personal favorites. Service was fantastic and atmosphere was warm and welcoming.

My wife and daughter went for breakfast. The food was good, but just good, not great. They had eggs, toast, and potatoes. They said it was fine, but probably wouldn’t visit again for breakfast considering the prices and other options available nearby. However, if you LOVE sourdough, this might be a great match for you, the menu has several options with sourdough forward items.

First time here on a late lunch date with my husband - lovely service, fun outdoor seating, charming vibes all around with delicious food. The bread that came with my soup was especially good!

I came here with a friend who works in the horticulture field because I knew she would love all the plants (even in the restrooms), but the food blew our minds. I had no idea what a tartine was, but then I couldn't choose if I wanted a savory or sweet one for breakfast. We came in right at 8 on a Saturday when the streets of Clayton were still quiet. We were seated right away and stayed a little over an hour. I'd like to come back and try their afternoon and evening menu, but the breakfast menu also had a lot to offer.

I think this cafe is probably one of the very best places that one could visit. The food is amazing!! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The vibe of the place is amazing. Hannah was an awesome waitress!, I thought she owned the cafe with the excellent service she provided. Thanks again for everyone’s pleasant hospitality. Definitely will be coming back soon.

My husband favorite breakfast spot. The staff are gracious and kind . The food is delicious. Love those crispy potatoes
I have severe food intolerances and the staff was incredible at accommodating me. I contacted them ahead of time and they made sure to prepare my dishes especially to suit, checking and double checking when I arrived to be sure all was to my needs. Incredible! I’ve been here so many times and the food never fails to please. I highly recommend.

Honestly, I don’t even know where to begin. I never write bad reviews because usually if a place is disappointing, I just move on and don’t bother. But this experience at Ivy Café in Clayton was frustrating enough that I feel it deserves to be shared.
To start, our waitress was polite and understanding, so this review isn’t about her attitude. My mom and I ordered two coffees; they were just okay, not terrible, but definitely nothing special. We also ordered food, and that’s where the quality really dropped. The dishes didn’t look fresh, the presentation was unappetizing, and the taste matched the appearance. On food and drink alone, I would’ve given the place maybe two stars.
But the part that truly pushed me to write this review was what happened afterward. While my mom and I were still sitting, talking, and I hadn’t even finished my coffee, the waitress came to our table twice asking if we were ready for the check. It felt rushed and uncomfortable, as if we were being pushed out.
What made it even more upsetting was the clear difference in how we were treated compared to others. My mom and I were speaking Bosnian, and I can’t help but feel that played a role in the urgency we were met with. A girl sitting right next to us, who had been there longer and was only drinking water, wasn’t approached repeatedly or asked if she was ready to leave.
The whole situation felt unfair, unwelcoming, and honestly just unpleasant. I always let things go and rarely feel strongly enough to leave a negative review, but this experience crossed a line for me. I won’t be returning, and I hope management takes this kind of feedback seriously.
Thank you.
