The food was pretty good and the server was great, but this place is super busy and they didnt have enough staff to help out so making the food and serving the food took forever. We ordered al carte from the menu not trying to be super wasteful so we ate small but then woukd have to wait almost 30 -45 minutes between ordering the food till it was served... kinda slow in my opinion for food that isn't even cooked. Over all not horibble just very very slow.

I took my kid here for his birthday. This was the second time I've been to Sushi AI, but my first time at this location. Everything was well prepared and delicious, and was just as good as my visit to the Maryland Heights location. The wait time was a little lengthy, but they were pretty busy.
My only complaint it that it was FREEZING cold in the restaurant. Both me and my kid's hands were icy cold the whole time we were there. Please turn up the heat! Also, be careful you order off the shorter sheet if you want to pay for the lunch menu prices. We accidentally grabbed the longer ones because they were facing towards us, not paying attention to that being a $24.99 AYC eat vs the much less expensive lunch price. I accept that as my mistake for not paying attention.
Aside from that, it was an excellent visit, and I'll definitely eat at a Sushi AI location again.

SUSHI was awesome. What sucked was they only offer soda in a can. They spend so much time on trying to appear upscale that they lose sight of their job. Offering all you can eat sushi at a reasonable price. Save yourself $10 forget about the two extra items on their lunch menu and go to the Dorsett location. You'll enjoy it more, TRUST ME!!!! AND TO THE STAFF when disabled people come in don't sit them at the other end of the restaurant. He was clearly on a cane and having difficulty walking. I feel very sorry for that gentleman and his family!!!!!!

Sushi Ai in Clayton is hands down the best sushi spot in STL. They offer all you can eat, dinner combos, and al la carte dining options. The atmosphere is amazing, very boujee, and the service is even better. If you haven’t been here, you’re missing out!

Was excited to try out their new location. Left disappointed because even though there was no wait for a table, we waited almost an hour for our first round of food.
The salmon nigiri, white tuna nigiri and some sushi rolls tasted quite fresh for an AYCE sushi though.
Unsure if we’re going to give them another chance…

They have gluten free soy sauce!
FYI:
Spicy roll filling is premade with tempura flakes, so no spicy roll can be made gluten free.
Eel: Eel sauce can be gluten free, but it doesn’t seem typical. All rolls that have eel will have eel sauce even if it isn’t noted on the menu.
Crab: Any mention of crab is imitation crab. There are very few imitation crab that is gluten free, so don’t expect it to be gf.
It isn’t typical that the server is aware of celiac or gf ingredients, so speak up and ask your server to ask the kitchen about ingredients.
I typically eat salmon, tuna, and Alaska rolls as a symptomatic celiac (gluten allergy/can’t handle cross contamination) for the all you can eat. Their sashimi is also excellent.

Me and my gf was at the new location right away at opening time it took almost 10 minutes for us to get a waiter even though we were the ONLY people there another couples came in 5 minutes later and immediately got a sever that took their order 20 minutes later that couple that came after us got their whole appetizers and main entrees meanwhile we were still waiting for our appetizers again it was still only me and my date and the other couple here and a staff of a dozen people just standing behind the counter terrible customer service we just left cause I was not gonna wait almost an hour to get food while watching people that came after us eat in front of me this used to be my favorite sushi spot not anymore now.

Staff reiterated several times the policy of charging the patrons if they have extra food leftover, ordering the all you can eat. After being harrased when ordering more food, a waiter approached my friend and I and told us we needed to leave because they had people waiting. In addition to that, the young lady we had for our server, walked past our table several times ignoring the dishes stacked at the edge of the table. Another sever eventually came to get the dishes. I watched out server, stand 10 feet away, looking in our direction but never came to pick the dishes up.

We were told that we had to eat all of our food or we would be charged one dollar for each piece of food left on our plate. Also, the hostess also walked over to our table to tell us the we had to leave because they had people waiting to for a table. My bill was $81.00. They also left dishes stacked at the table.
