We chose this restaurant to celebrate my sister's birthday, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. We opted for the four-course meal, and every dish was thoughtfully prepared and genuinely delicious.
What really stood out was the customer service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made the celebration feel truly special.
The venue itself is small and incredibly charming, lending a lovely, intimate atmosphere to the meal. It’s the perfect spot for a special occasion or a cozy, high-quality dinner. Highly recommend!

We celebrated our 10th Anniversary here. Howard, our server, offered to provide tasting portions for us because we wanted to try 4 courses but not do the tasting menu itself. The food was very good, thought nothing specifically was outstanding. We had a small beet salads, tuna tartare, beef tartare, blue crab cake, escargot, and for entrees we both had the strip sirloin. The beef was covered in sauce, which, while tasty, made me think the quality of the beef couldn't stand on its own if needed. The environment is cozy and mostly on the quieter side with noise levels. I recommend going for regular portions of things, as it seems some of the taste and pizzaz is lost when getting smaller portions...they may be presented differently, I think. The beet salad definitely is.
The crossing is a delicious restaurant with great ambience and service! We will definitely be returning again and again!
The best place to enjoy wonderful food, attentive friendly service in an unpretentious environment. When a restaurant is this good, they don't have to look like they're trying too hard.
The best
I absolutely love this dining spot! The fresh pasta is amazing, and they always have great specials. It feels like I'm back at a cozy French restaurant in Paris. I highly recommend it!
I had not been to the Crossing in a long time. The food was just as delicious as I remembered. I also love that it is was one the few fine dinning restaurants in Clayton that are open for lunch. There were clean plates all around the table, but I especially loved my trout entree with mash, veggies and sauce. It was a beautiful warm meal for a crisp fall day. Will be back again soon.
The service and experience you get at the crossing is 10/10.
Highly recommend.

We had a phenomenal experience at The Crossing for a special occasion. Our server (I think Louis) was attentive, knowledgeable, and gracious, and the restaurant truly made our night. We had the chef's grand tasting menu and wine pairing, and each dish was delicious. We will absolutely endeavor to return the next time we are in St. Louis.
Consistent, solid classic French/American cuisine. Service continues to be superb and professional. Top wine list.
Quiet spot, dim lights, zero attitude. The tasting menu hit every note — duck, pasta, even dessert felt balanced. Staff knew their stuff without being pushy. Just clean, confident cooking.

Fantastic! We did the Chef's Grand Tasting Menu which was delicious from start to finish. Every bite was incredible. Excellent variety and a lot of food. Can't recommend highly enough. Other's at the table did the regular tasting menu and they felt the same about their meal. A definite must!
