Just passing through from Illinois, we were looking for anything but a chain eatery and found George's Pizza & Steak House. We were made to feel welcomed as soon as we entered! We fell in love with 3 original commissioned stained glass windows and George's family photos, celebrity photos, and just the homey feel of the place. There was a full menu as well as a lunch special menu, the latter from which we elected to order. Gyro and tater tots called our names, lol...$8.99 per platter The meat was tender and flavorful. The pita was soft and warm. The tzatziki sauce was just pure YUM! The tater tots had the perfect crispy outside and soft pillowy inside. George shared some of his history with us. Good conversation! Good food! Definitely worth the stop! We will definitely stop again when we come this way in future trips! (I can't wait to try the pizza next!)

I love the veggie pizza & spanakopita! My husband loved the spaghetti. The gin & tonic was huge & tasted very refreshing.

This place deserves more than 5 stars. We've traveled 1,155, and back, and this way by far the best food the entire time. The burgers and steak were amazing and the spaghetti was so good. The people working made a big impression and will forever be remembered. My kids haven't stopped talking about them. Pretty sure this place will remain a top favorite for everyone. Thank you so much for an amazing time!

Savannah greeted me with a smile. I had the club sandwich with fries. Rosario always does an excellent job cooking. Service is always on par. George treats every one like family. Fun to listen to his stories.

Moved to Missouri back in February for unexpected reasons. Saw this place was just down the road and decided to stop in for a bite. I've been back probably about every other week since then. Great service. George, the owner, is an interesting person with lots of stories and is always happy to meet his customers. Savannah is such a sweetie and always greets you with a smile. Food is always good & is freshly made. If you want some food that's been roasting under a heat lamp for the past 4 hours, go elsewhere.

Had the cheese ravioli it was great. It didn't taste like the freezer section kind that a lot of restaurants sell. Also had the gyro and cheeseburger. Both perfectly seasoned and the textures were great. The vibe was relaxed, comfortable, and cozy. George was very kind and personable. Our server was attentive. Bathrooms were clean. Place could use some basic maintenance overall but still deserves 5 stars to us.

We are on an 18 hour road trip, 16 hours in. We needed to stop for real food and tried the Jimmy Johns up the road. After 10 minutes of standing at the register there unacknowledged, we left and found the first food place we could. That's how we ended up here. A kind blonde woman greeted us immediately, and was easily the most warm and welcome restaurant face we have seen in awhile. We would rather spend $60 here than 15 at Jimmy Johns because they make us feel like we are putting our hard earned dollars somewhere that values us.

Wish I could give more stars, the food was wonderful.i had pizza and my daughter has gyros. The food is freshly made on site, including the desserts, had baklava . Everything was well portioned, The service was great, they treated us as if we where the only ones there,we where not. Even though they had just opened, what seemed like many regular customers where there they also do a take out , which was good to see .
