My husband and I decided to try Szechuan House for the first time for my birthday dinner. The atmosphere was fairly cold (though room was warm) with fluorescent lighting and not overly friendly/welcoming staff, but I’m always game to overlook environment for good food.Unfortunately, the food was forgettable. I ordered something from the spicy menu - beef hot pot - and there was no spice. Zero. Not even a hint of a pepper. It wasn’t unpleasant - the beef in the stew was tender with a lot of skin/fat in the dish - but it was just one note. Might as well have been swimming in gravy. The egg roll was decent. My husband ordered the crispy chicken. And it was just little deep fried shards of chickens so it made it harder to eat. Some little spice to it but again -one note.Maybe we were too adventurous with our choice in order and should have stuck to the more typical American orders? We went there because of rave reviews. I feel like everyone should try things for themselves, but just wanted to give an honest take for one experience.

I invited a few friends for dinner at Szechuan House last evening. The food was good or great, but the customer service was soooo bad! The owner/waitress rolled her eyes at me when I asked for more water in the small tea pot, and she said I was annoying because I ordered additional food later after we finished all the food. All this happened after she got 20% tips! Just rude for no reason! The food really doesn't worth the bad customer service there.

The spicy crispy chicken was really good! I did a to go order, so Im sure food would have been much better if it was fresh off the fire! Altogether, im happy

Good food here for a pretty reasonable price, when you order you'll get an amount of food that's sure to leave you with some leftovers for the next day. I ordered on grubhub so not sure what service is like in person. Only complaint is the rice, which was very underwhelming and hard the next day

The hostess was very rude and that spoiled the experience right from the start. The hot and sour soup was almost inedible due to the excess spice level. The kung pao chicken was totally fried chicken with a strange sauce that made the taste even worse. Never heard or seen or tasted kung pao chicken made this way, especially poorly. The lady waiting on me and the other guests was very rude, especially to the non-Chinese visitors. It was a crazy experience. Never going back again.

The LEAST TASTY Asian food I’ve tasted. Got the Pan Fried Vermicelli with beef and it was so bland with very scanty amount of beef and quite tasteless. Asian food are usually flavorful but this was not at all. Besides the waitress wasn’t so helpful. Being my first time in this restaurant, she couldn’t even recommend any good tasting food and didn’t seem like she wanted to help. Made it look like we were disturbing her. Just ordered the food as a take out and left. Don’t think I’ll go there again. Lastly, the restaurant was quite cold due to poor heating in the winter.

This order was NOTHING like what I ordered! I want a full refund. Appetizers were OK, they were fried food. But both orders of fried rice were not even close to what I ordered. Missing everything and tasteless. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! I want to contact them for a refund, but there is no place to question the order anywhere online. How convenient.

A very straightforward dining experience -- I thought the sesame chicken was a bit too sweet for my palate, but was still plenty flavorful. My friends enjoyed it, however, so perhaps take my commentary with a grain of salt. Presentation was excellent, and the location is conveniently right on the outskirts of downtown CoMo, with a free private parking lot.

Crab Rangoons were fantastic. Spicy sour pork was great and spicy crispy chicken was really spicy. Very friendly service and great as take out. Location easily accessible with drive in drive out.
