“Nobody else there when we arrived at 2:30pm. Staff was awesome. Food was soooo good. Everything I tried was perfect and spiced the way I like it. I wish I lived in Cuba to enjoy this restaurant on a regular basis.”

“On our way to Steelville MO we stopped for lunch at the Cuba Bakery and Deli. This was a cute little spot to stop and have lunch. There was only one person working today and he was on fire capturing everyone’s orders, making the food and running the register. It took about 15 mins to get a sandwich but it was worth it bedside there were not too many spots around that were open.

We all ordered a sandwich with a dill pickle and waters. We also picked up some banana bread that was In the store. You are able to purchase bread, ice cream and other baked goods in the store that are ready to go.

The food was good and the hospitality of that ow guy was on point. We normally come out to Steelville once per year and we will make sure we come back through.

They also served coffee and cold drinks. Plenty of parking out front and a cool country vibe.”

“Was coming to see family in Salem mo.decide to stop here and eat on our way home.The worst bbq I ever ate ordered pork steak was so tough could not eat no flavor.Was not smoked didn't look like pork steaks I can smoke better bbq at home.I don't know how they say they are so good.Never will stop there again never smelled smoker on outside.Nasty.....don't waste your time stopping there.Even bbq sauces were nasty tasting”

“I recently stopped at Scooter’s Coffee in Cuba, MO, for a quick pick-me-up, and it ended up being a great experience. It was my first time trying Scooter’s, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. I went through the drive-thru, which moved quickly even with a few cars ahead of me. The barista at the window was super friendly, greeting me with a big smile and making sure I had everything I needed.

I ordered an iced coffee, which was delicious—not too sweet, with a nice balance of coffee and caramel flavors. I also grabbed a breakfast burrito on a whim, and it was surprisingly fresh and flavorful for a quick bite. It’s nice to have more than just the usual pastries as options, and it tasted like it had just been made.

The menu has a nice variety of options, so whether you’re a coffee drinker or more into smoothies or tea, there’s something for everyone. I could tell this is a place that cares about customer service and quality, which is refreshing for a drive-thru coffee stop. Overall, it was a quick but enjoyable stop, and I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area!

The highlight of my visit was definitely the chicken. Skippy’s chicken is exceptional—crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. The seasoning is balanced and flavorful, offering just the right amount of spice and herbs without overwhelming the natural taste of the meat. Each bite was delicious, and it was clear that the kitchen takes real care in preparation and consistency.

One of the things I appreciated most was the quick service. Despite the popularity of the restaurant, I didn’t have to wait long at all for my order. The staff was efficient and friendly, moving quickly while still taking the time to be polite and attentive. It’s rare to find a place that combines speed with quality, but Skippy’s manages both effortlessly.

Everything about the meal—from the warm welcome to the perfectly cooked chicken—left a lasting impression. Skippy's Route 66 Restaurant delivers exactly what you hope for in a fast-food stop: delicious, well-seasoned food served fast and fresh. “I love this place, 1 sweet Korean man that runs the entire place and cooks everything from scratch as it’s ordered, BY HIMSELF! that’s why it might take a little while longer to get your food because it FRESH, I love the crab Rangoon because it’s not sweet like everywhere else! His sweet and sour sauce is alittle different than normal and I love it! Please try this place if you are in Steelville!”
