The Food has no taste and no seasoning. The Service is good and the ambience is nice but don’t come for the food because is bland and tasteless. Very well presented tho, and large quantity.

I have been coming here since they opened and today will be the last time...On June 19th 2026 I ordered a blue frozen margarita and was advised they were out. Ok thats fine so I ordered a small frozen pitcher with peach and passion fruit and did not like it. I only took a sip and asked the waitress if I could return it and order something else she said no. I asked the manager and he said no because its a margarita...long story short I explained very calmly the situation and he still refused to accommodate me. (ORDER A DIFFERENT FLAVOR)The manager use to work as a waiter at the one on St.Charles Rock Rd. He clearly does not know how to do his job. I will not encourage anyone to patronize this location.

2nd time I've eaten here and I brought a new person with me (take out). The food was mid...got the grilled chicken chimi and it was OK. I paid extra for the chicken but they put more peppers and onions in it. The beans smelled and tasted funny (trash) but the rice was decent.
Nicely remodeled from a fast food spot, but the decor is great and seating is comfy. Food is great and good selection of Mex beers. Service is friendly and efficient, but lots of folks linger for drinks and conversation. Highly recommend!

Absolutely horrible place. There are way better El Maguey locations. The employees are rude and they watched me like a secret shopper going to the bathroom like I was going to walk out on the check, the restaurant was dirty, the food is really good at other locations but here it's not anymore, not to mention the bathroom was absolutely disgusting and when I told one of the employees that I thought was a manager, they rolled their eyes and brushed it off. Which doesn't surprise me, it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days. Body fluids everywhere and wet toilet paper all over the stall, dirty floors and seat, so unsanitary that employees probably use those same bathrooms. I've been hearing around not to go to this location for a while and now I can see why. Don't waste your money

Never go here. My husband and I literally ordered 60 dollars worth of food and drinks, he had A beer and I had A margarita. My husband works 12 hour days in the sun so we decided to go relax and have a nice date even though he was exhausted from work. So about halfway through the beer they bring the food, I stepped outside to hit my vape because I was TRYING TO BE RESPECTFUL... And my husband just so happened to close his eyes for a moment due to his exhaustion and a half a beer. But did they come up and ask him if he was okay? Did they bring our check and tell us that we need to pay out and we can't have you falling asleep here? Did they tell us we needed to leave? NO. THEY CALLED THE POLICE, TOLD THEM WE WERE INTOXICATED AND TRYING TO RUN OUT ON THE CHECK. because I stepped outside to vape. all while both of our drinks were half empty, my food untouched, and my husband with his eyes closed but still at the table. The cops nearly arrested my husband for not paying when we were NEVER APPROACHED BY STAFF, never given a check, and had every intention of paying.we never even finished our food. and after paying they wouldn't even allow us to take the food we paid for, we weren't allowed back to the table. Do NOT GO HERE. They profile customers and create a scene where there is none. I have 15000 st Louis Instagram followers and I'll be sure to have them boycott el maguey for their rude and stereotypical behavior, and the effort to have me and my husband arrested for him closing his eyes after a 12 hour day in the sun and NOT EVEN A FULL DRINK

While also implying that I made it up. I had one drink, that I halfway drank. I remember where I was and what happened. This is the WORST El Maguey in the entire St Louis area. I had an absolutely unbelievably horrible experience and I recommend anyone that wants to eat here go to the Bridgeton location if you're North, and tower grove or the Delmar loop if you're closer to south city.
Or just find another Mexican restaurant entirely, there's better ones out there.
This Florissant location has the worst management and handles customers BADLY. This wasn't just ordinary bad service, we were respectful and quiet, kept to ourselves during our meal. they literally escalated a minor issue and turned it into a spectacle for themselves. They made a disgusting stereotypical assumption.
Steer clear, spend your money at a place that values customers and doesn't profile them.
