I’ve visited Herman several times in the past and have always enjoyed it, but this experience was completely different. The bartender (long hair, not sure of his name) seemed irritable from the moment we walked in. He screamed at one customer to leave, then yelled at another group of guests who had simply moved a table slightly closer to their friends. His outbursts were loud, aggressive, and confusing for everyone in the restaurant.
The atmosphere quickly turned hostile, and we decided not to spend any more money there—just like several other guests who left after witnessing the same behavior. As someone who works in the service industry, I can’t imagine ever treating guests in this manner.
Very disappointing, especially since Herman has always been a place I’ve enjoyed visiting in the past.

Thought it was going to be a good dive bar but staff/service was lacking. Felt like the server was annoyed he actually had to work. Never checked back after bringing our food, never brought my wife’s salad or bill (guess you are supposed to know they don’t bring out checks and you have to pay at the bar). They only provide water bottles on the weekend instead of glasses of water, I guess 8 patrons is too many to keep dishes clean for. Just go buy gas station food and drink a bottle of wine in your room.

As there are not many places to eat after 8 pm on a Thursday night in Hermann, this place was a lifesaver! Sharps was recommended to us a a place to dine and is none for their food and they definitely did not disappoint. Food was excellent and served with a smile!

People in the bar were very welcoming, then the bartender with a red shirt on July 18th was extremely rude and lost the bar a lot of money with a bachelorette party. Terrible hospitality. Sad.

We shared a bacon cheeseburger, deluxe pizza, and pepper jack bites. The cheeseburger was tasty, although much smaller than expected. The deluxe pizza tasted mostly like saltine crackers and some green peppers and onion. The pepper jack bites were delish. We were greeted nicely, waited on well, service lost some points due to just walking away when I had put my card in, being unsure if things were processed and such.

Was bar hopping Hermann on a Friday night and no other bar kitchens were open past 11pm. We rolled into this place hoping they had a kitchen, and that it was open. Sure enough, it was! The staff was extremely friendly and talked to us while we waited on our food. Told us their black stone grill has been seasoned for 100 years! And honestly… you could tell! We got double cheeseburgers and a cheese fry and they were great. The burgers were the absolute star of the show! Hit the spot. Would definitely come to this place again. Such friendly staff!
My friend was handed her burger with no plate…..I had to get up and ask the waiter for a plate…..the cheese fries were a plate of microwaved fries and a small container of nacho cheese.

Horrible experience here. Waiter was weird and aggressive, noticeably irritated when we asked questions. Food is extremely cheap, and you get what you pay for. Frozen fries and burgers. I was served my burger with no plate, just expected to eat off the table I suppose. Definitely a hole in the wall place. Don’t expect anything more.

We have been here a few times. We have always had good and friendly services. The food is good if you like simple bar food. Which I do. Prices are great and the place seems very clean. For the water drinkers like me, they have good water as well.

Came here for the St Louis style pizza. The pizza was pretty good but light on all the toppings. Service was slow, but there seemed to be only one server and the cook working. Maybe we just came on an expected slow day and they got a little busier than expected.
