We enjoyed the cellar tour and a tasting. Our tour guide, John, was top notch. It was really enjoyable to learn so much about Hermann wine history. The tasting was our favorite of the day with good insights, not rushed, and very tasty.

Be sure to take advantage of the free cellar tour. The guides provide a great history of the winery to help the visitor understand not just the wine-making process, but the town and the culture in which it exists. Their wine is very good and worth the stop.

I tried a glass of the Hellbender wine at the hotel bar last night so decided I would do the tour and tasting today. Steve was an excellent guide both for my tour and tasting. The history of wine making in Missouri was interesting as well as seeing the incredible hand built stone cellars. I tried my six wines and every one of them was good. They seem to have something for every taste.

We went on fall harvest festival day. The experience was great. This winery is right in Hermann and it's easy to get to even though it's on a hill. The grounds are nice and very historic. We didn't visit all parts but we got a good feel for the place. The tasting room capacity is big and it's a great experience. They make a lot of wines so there are many to choose from. The store is huge. There are some wines you can only get at the store on the premesis. This was one of the best winery experiences I've had. Stone hill is a popular brand in the area. They have something for almost everyone.

I am deeply disappointed by the treatment my group received at Stone Hill Winery. Our party of 15, all Black, was refused service in a way that was both humiliating and unacceptable.

We ordered food and never received it, while a white party of 12 who came after us was not only served promptly but even received what we had ordered. To make matters worse, staff did not acknowledge or correct the situation when it was brought to their attention.

What should have been a joyful outing turned into an experience that left us feeling disrespected and discriminated against. No group should be treated this way because of the color of their skin.

I cannot in good conscience recommend Stone Hill Winery, and I hope the management will take this feedback seriously and implement changes to ensure that no one else experiences what we did.

Wow! First time visiting Hermann and decided to start with Stone Hill winery! They offer a free Wine Cellar tour that is amazing and a must do if visiting this winery! Our tour guide started working at this winery in April 2025 (sorry can’t remember her name) but, oh my, she was very knowledgeable and so much history! Wine tasting was also great, went above and beyond to explain each wine! Ended up buying the Dry Rose, even though all their wines were excellent!

We purchased the Berries and BBQ tickets to do a wine trail with.
When we got to Stone Hill we found out they do not participate in this. That is fine, but the lady doing the wine tasting room at the end of the building was very rude to us.
We did not know, we went in there and told her we were part of that, she VERY rudely (in front of a group) spatted at us that “ WE are not part of that!!! “
She could have said very politely “ I’m sorry ladies, we do not participate in that”
Just put a bad taste in our mouth for the whole place-this happened on July 26th a little after noon
She had ridiculous looking eye shadow on and thought she was pretty special ……smh!!!

Nice place that is in a beautiful location on top of one of the many hills in Hermann. We went on the winery tour which we had been on before but it was years ago. The tour leader was personable and willing to answer any question, or even be patient when one person on our tour wanted to use this time as a personnel photo shoot, lol. The tour is about 30 minutes or so and was definitely well worth the cost.....which was free. Be sure to tip your guide : )

It's a winery! With good wines to sample - do that! A tour of the winery - do that! And quite a nice German-style restaurant for lunch (I think it closes quite early). The wine and beers were very good. I certainly enjoyed my schweineschnitzel. The white bratwurst (with the fine ground pork) was enjoyed by all. This was by far the best food we had on our short stay in Hermann.
