We waited 15 minutes with menus at a table and didn’t even get waters. This was after a 10 minute wait for a table, and the restaurant was not busy. Two servers and a host. Very poor experience on a slow lunch day.

We're so surprised at some of the negative reviews this restaurant has received because we had an absolutely wonderful night celebrating our anniversary at Vintage 1847! We arrived early and were told the table by the window my fiancé had requested was not quite ready yet, which was completely understandable, so we played checkers while we waited. When we had to wait an extra five minutes past our reservation time they comped us each a glass of (delicious) wine. Our waitress, April, was charming and attentive, and the food was so flavorful and excellently prepared. Plus the view of the vineyard and the town from up on the winery hill was so romantic and charming. This experience alone was worth the drive from KC to Hermann. We'll be back!

We went here for a mid afternoon lunch. The food was mediocre and the wait for food was long. Find another option

We love the history of this winery and restaurant and truly enjoy the hospitality and good food. I had French onion soup and salad, and my wife had a bowl of delicious gouda/potato soup. We shared the Vintage Sundae topped with Cream Sherry Caramel and chocolate sauce. The wines, of course, were top notch and very reasonably priced. A GREAT STOP!
We were a party of 4 adults and one 15-month old, there to celebrate our 40th anniversary. The food was amazing. the wait staff were friendly and attentive, and the price was reasonable. We had an appetizer, some wine, and dessert with our meal, We left pleasantly full and very happy from the experience.

Definitely missed the mark. There were like 8 people in the dining room and waitress disappeared. We would have ordered at least $50 more food and wine. Everything was great until our food was delivered, and the waitress never came back…

Nice place to eat, one vegan option on the lunch menu, no vegan options on the dinner menue.
-Waiter provided excellent service -They provided a military discount - Food: barely eatable! Initial serving was returned because meat was cold. The entres, a three meat combo, was bland, not properly prepared. French onion soup seasoned improperly, lack flavor. Cost: $70 for two. Be aware, you will pay full price for the spaezle if you choose not to have the meat component of the meal. $26 for a bowl of noodles is pricey. (Would have been nice to know prior to ordering).

I've been going here for years, and it's normally one of my favorite places to eat. I made reservations for 4:45 and was sat promptly. The host was friendly and welcoming, and I had a choice of where I preferred to sit.
Potato Pancakes were ordered for the appetizer, as well as the French Onion soup. Entrees were ordered, and the potato pancakes and soup were brought out first.
By 5:40, the main courses hadn't been served. Highly unusual for this restaurant, but it was a highly unusual night. The place was slammed! I have never seen so many people come into this restaurant without reservations and promptly get turned away. Must have been around 100 people, and I'm actually afraid I'm underestimating.
My entree was brought out, and it was luke-warm. My Jager sauce was congealed, so i knew it'd been sitting for a while. I asked what was going on, and was told that there was a dinner rush, and the restaurant was under staffed. Okay, I can understand these issues, but, I made reservations in advance so things like this won't necessarily happen.
I was given a discount on my entree, which was very generous.
Wait time and customer service notwithstanding, something is off with this place since the COVID days. The menu downsized considerably, which I'm used to now, but the food is bland. It doesn't pop like it used to, and just all blends into one.
Even the Sherry in the soup wasn't up to normal standards.
Delicious from beginning to end!
Service and atmosphere is good, however the food is just OK, potato pancakes are basically hash browns and the potato salad is just OK, you cant really screw up breaded pork and gravy so they get a pass. However the prices reflect a better product than delivered. So this is 3 stars for my experience.
BEST French onion soup I've ever had!!!!! l get it every time we go there .we live in Hermann so we go fairly often .Cute little German resturant!! My wife always gets the ruban... I'm not a big fan of rubans...but that one is pretty good!!
