Really cool place to eat and the atmosphere was awesome. The place is redone from and old horse barn and still has most of the original pieces from each stable. The staff and cooks are on point and the place was spotless we it came to cleanliness.

Service was perfect, but food is mediocre at best. Brie appetizer is completely flavorless, German Duo had no seasoning and looked like somebody went theough a buffet line and thew a bunch of food on the plate. Spaetzl was gummy and unseasoned, tasted like it has cheeses sauce from a jar on it. The French onion soup was nice though. Definitely way over priced for what you get.

The restaurant is fine as long as you’re not expecting authentic German food (or beer). Potato pancakes were shredded hash browns. Not bad, but not potato pancakes. Pork schnitzel not what I’ve had in Germany. It wasn’t bad either - just not what I was expecting. If you go in with the expectation that you’re going to an American restaurant with some German named food, you should be fine. If you think you’ve found an authentic German restaurant you might be disappointed.

Truly remarkable. The French onion soup is 🔥 👌 the absolute best besides my German homemade recipe. I was truly impressed. Also the spinach artichoke dip was delicious as well as the Bread Pudding. My loved ones and I had a truly blessed time. Will be back. Can't wait!

First our reservation was lost. Snippy hostess looked at our confirmation and stated, you'll have to take it up with the manager. Ok, fine. Manager saw our confirmation and said it was her error. Offered a free bottle of wine, admission of being understaffed but they would definitely work us in.

Great atmosphere. Excellent, authentic German dishes. Excellent service. There was a slight delay in getting our entree and the manager personally apologized and gave me a free glass of wine to apologize for the delay. Great and friendly wait staff. Highly recommend.

The food is great and the location is awesome, what they lack in is service quality. The moment they’ve more crowd, the quality of service drops. They become slow. They substituted Jasmine rice with gritts and they don’t even bother to ask us before or even inform us during serving. We noticed and asked and they only told us at that moment. But there was no effort also to make it right. You club that with the winery tour and the wine testing and it’s actually very good.

We’ve been coming to Hermann about every 2-3 years for our anniversary for 51 years, always looking for to dining here. Seems there has been a decline in the food last few visits. Used to be you got a bread basket, lovely assortment of wonderful breads, used to be potato pancakes were exactly that vs hash browns, used to be the red cabbage was warm tender and sweet no more. The potato salad was still good. They were out of beef for the German entrees, I had the pork that was tough and grisly. The service was very nice, the rating reflects the fact I was not ask “how is everything” tells me avoidance of a response. It may not be realistic that over 50 years anything stays the same😢

Food was fantastic and I would recommend the Duo and potato pancake. Probably other items worth while too. Warning: this place is kept pretty chilly.

The biggest problem: we ordered an appetizer almost immediately after we sat down and then 2 more dishes for the table the next time our server appeared. We were hear for about an 1:45 mostly waiting on food that was not better than lukewarm when it arrived.

I can only imagine how good the pretzel and cheese sauce would have been if it was actually warm. Who knows what the problem was today.

Not a good choice for German food. Our brat was still pink and bloody…undercooked pork is not advisable to eat. The other items were fine but not for the price.
