Absolutely amazing experience, cook was amazing, food was amazing, and our server was great. Made for a wonderful 19th birthday!

The hibachi experience adds so much to the visit, and the chefs do a great job making the whole meal entertaining while still serving up delicious food.
The portions are generous, the steak and chicken are flavorful, and everything comes out hot and cooked just right. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a relaxed dinner with family or friends and leave feeling full and happy.
Overall, Tokyo Japanese Steak House is a solid spot in Joplin for good food, great portions, and a dining experience that is a little more special than your average night out.

Never been here before. Let’s start off there. I’ve traveled some and ate lots. While some places don’t season the meat to where you need tons of sauce to add on, this was not one of them. However the ginger sauce is fantastic for veggies imo bc I’m a sauce person. The meats were seasoned so well! The noodles, the salad and soup my picky daughter was slurping down asking for more. For being in Joplin, Missouri the bar wasn’t the highest going in. Not gonna lie about that. However I was pleasantly disappointed because the hibachi was seasoned so well. I don’t know if it’s standard per training or to the particular chef. Either way imo it needs praise.
Minor Down points again Imo the fried sushi we received was too round. I would have a long roll VRs the roll I need to cut in half. I’ll preferred a bite sized roll. Also would’ve preferred a a 2 piece nigiri but I have yet to try the sushi bar so could be an option there.

Food was delicious, great entertainment

I love this place! Having been to Japan, this place highlights the hibachi style that you would seen in Japan. There was an amazing show with amazing food, and even better service! The employees cared about you, and they cared about the food they were preparing! I would highly recommend this place!

After our server brought out our sushi and second round of drinks, she never returned. Our drinks were wrong and after 30 minutes we had to flag down some other server to locate our server. We were ready to leave at this point but without visiting our table she decided to have new drinks sent to our table. So we had to flag down yet another server to get out check delivered. Whole experience went from good to abysmal.

I normally don’t put bad reviews because I understand customer service, but our hibachi chef was one of the most inappropriate chefs I’ve ever seen. He made rape jokes ( Diddy jokes, baby oil jokes, etc ), and then proceeded to be racist towards asian people and saying the meat was dog or cat, which was not okay in the slightest. I will not be back unless he is no longer there. I was extremely uncomfortable with his “ humor “. I told a server and she knew who I was talking about. He needs to do better.

Tokyo Japenese Steak House in Joplin, MO is our go to for the area.

I would not personally say that it's the best food around but it is good for the local area. You get great portions, everyone is fed and full, plus there's a hibachi show to go along with your meal.

Overall, this makes for a great night out!
