I love coming to Anchor Island Coffee. The atmosphere is welcoming, inclusive, and queer owned. All the staff I have met are very friendly. They have the best iced carmel oatmilk latte in the area, and their buffalo chicken quesadilla is delicious. The downstairs area is quite small but there is plenty of seating upstairs. There are often pop ups of local vendors in the downstairs area as well. I have seen a variety of items from art, jewelry, soaps, and candles. There is lots of free/non-metered street parking, but how full it is can depend on the time/day and other events happening nearby. Usually I have no problem parking very close on a Saturday afternoon but on occasion I have had to circle the block.Parking: Street parking all around the shop and nearby blocks. Can be difficult depending on the time of day, day of the week, and any other events that may be happening nearby. There is a lot behind the building but I am unsure if it is public or for employees only.Wheelchair accessibility: Very tight space downstairs, but could be workable. The upstairs would be completely inaccessible.

Best coffee shop in town. Nowhere else will you be able to taste flavorful dishes made with LOVE. I am currently sick right now, and what I needed was my mom’s homemade caldos, and the Tortilla Chicken Soup was the perfect fix to comfort me. The Horchata latte is my favorite in town, it’s the perfect subtle sweetness. Also…my family is from Latin origin and they typically don’t like eating out because they can’t find a suitable taste that feels like “home”, and let me tell you their taste buds were satisfied. They are willing to travel a little farther than usual to experience savory Latin inspired food. For my family, food is a love language, we make food for all guests even if unexpected or unfamiliar ones. Siempre un cafecito se ofrece! Thanks Anchor Island for your welcoming environment and staff.

I stumbled upon anchor Island and it is the best coffee and food with the most relaxing atmosphere! I love the free- hearted Southern California vibe! I walked in and felt like I just walked into a sunny Southern California beach cafe, A bit of therapy after a dark, cold KC winter! The chillaqulles and breve latte were delicious! The best way to start a day!

Anchor Island Coffee shop is a nice place to visit and have a unique specialty coffee. The staff were smiling, helpful, and friendly. They have an upstairs room for special events. You would have to go by their place or call so as to inquire about any events.

I adore everything about this place ? it reminded me of some of the little cafes of my hometown in hialeah, Florida! I saved some of my coffee and French toast with my mother and we agreed they were delicious!Vegetarian options: I saw some options, I wasn't paying to much attention to it because I'm not vegetarian but this asked me so I guess important to some people and do recall seeing vegan/vegetarian options on the menus!
