The Westin Crown Center was not prepared for the KC Chiefs Super Bowl Parade. The elevators are always slow, this time it was unreal. We could only get down the stairs to the fourth floor and at that point they were blocked off. Numerous attempts and calls to front desk only to advise they are aware. Said they had to block it off for the media. I'm sure the Fire Marshall would not agree. Why not use a conference room? We rode up to ride back down and took everything with us so we did not have to deal with it again. An emergency or fire would have been devastating. Marriott and Westin - You Can Do Better! When we stayed in 2020 for the parade, they only allowed 'paying guests' to access the hotel. This was not the case yesterday; it was a compete zoo and disaster as anyone and everyone needing a bathroom or inside was allowed. The restaurant was not prepared either. Told us it would be an hour for our food, we said okay; we understand. She came back later to tell us they cannot accept any more orders and we needed to go elsewhere. You only have a few short months to fix this for the NFL Draft.

Definitely one of the better Westin properties in the states! Service is friendly and welcoming, rooms are comfortable and clean plus the location is convenient! Plus they have one of the better hotel gyms that Ive seen in my travels. Also staying in the middle of the excitement with the Chiefs Super Bowl win added to the stay too!

I had the worst experience ever literally I don't think I've ever felt racism until today I called to make reservations at the the westin Kansas city we were driving from Minnesota with her family doing a little mini vacation we called and set up the reservations on the phone we asked if they had 11 AM check in time they said he has they do we asked him about three times we wanted to make sure because we have our little baby in the car and he was very tired and we wanted to rest we were super excited that they have that availability and we drove to the hotel as soon as we got there we were ignored we had to get attention from someone finally they helped us after 15 minutes and the lady her name was Rita she was super rude to us we told her that we had reservations and she was like so do other people it's booked here I can't get you in right now but I can take your information and possibly get you in later we called and they had a reservations already and we would be able to check in at 11 AM she continued to argue with us and then told us we had to step aside so she can help the next people She looked at us with such discussed it made me cry I literally don't cry over stupid stuff like this but it made me really sad because my son just wanted to lay down he was extremely tired I was tired and my daughter was tired she continued to help other people and we stood there trying to get someone to help us ans finally we just left went to another hotel which was double the price of their hotel so we ended up having to spend an extra $300 I just wish someone could address this this is my first time in Kansas we drove all the way from Minnesota it was a disaster and I tried to ask the guy in the front for information who I can contact that could help us they gave us some number we continue to be on hold I said we had to talk to the people at the front desk and they couldn't help us either if someone could please help us address this that would be great

Jericka at the front desk was so helpful and kind. I have specific accommodation needs and she went out of her way to find a creative solution for me. THANK YOU! This is the kind of caring service that keeps me coming back to stay. I also love all the amenities here: gym, big heated pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, tanning bed, yoga area... The air is dry, especially in the winter, so I always bring a portable humidifier. There are lots of good places to explore or eat within walking distance. It's a really safe area day and night.

We had the best stay. Jericka at the front desk was so kind and upbeat and helpful! 10 out of 10 for service. The manager Risha, was very helpful and great customer service! We were held over for 3 to 4 days and they made our stay very pleasant. We felt at home at the Westin!

Located right downtown with all the facilities you would expect. Right on top of the mall and a food court. Not much to do around the hotel but many BBQ restaurants available within walking distance. Friendly staff and clean rooms; a good quality hotel for the price.

Here you will find 5-star service AND they bend over backwards for families with kids. A special nod to Jericka and Glenn for their exceptional customer service!! This is our go-to for the views, beautiful pool, fun activities and it’s just steps away from Union Station & the free KC trolley.

This hotel is very nice. The bar is nice and accommodating. The staff are too. They don’t clean the rooms as often as I would like, but otherwise everything was great. I stayed here for nine days and other than needing my room cleaned and having to ask for it to be done, all was great!

My company spent a great deal of money here and we revived the bare minimum in services with insane fees for a VERY AVERAGE TO BELOW AVERAGE hotel. Everything is outdated. The arrogant manager at the front desk thought he was better than everyone and had no appreciation for the tens of thousands of dollars my team chose to spend there over other BETTER hotels.

This is an older hotel built back in the early 1970’s. Probably used to be quite a grand hotel back in the day. The front desk staff provided an efficient and quick check in, but were not particularly friendly. My guest room on the 15th floor looked out at the downtown which was quite beautiful after dark. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well. The hotel has a very nice fitness center and an outdoor swimming pool. Be sure and catch a free ride on the RideKC Streetcar to downtown across the street at Union Station.

Cannot say enough about the location. Right across from Union Station and connected with skyways to it and other places like the aquarium And Legoland. Directly across the street from the WWI memorial and museum, which is a must see. But rooms were adequate sized and everyone was pleasant on staff.

Well, to say this hotel is past its prime would be an understatement. It looks okay in photos but really, I would not stay here again. They are in dire need of a major remodel which I doubt would financially make sense. This was built to be a very grand contemporary hotel for the Hallmark Company when greeting cards were a huge thing. So, think early 1970s. It's in a version of LA's Century City that's getting a little tired. The self-parking entrance is being redone so you have to park in the mall next door then try to figure out where the hotel entrance is. This took us about 30 minutes of driving around a claustrophobic garage and would have taken the rest of my life if not for a very kind security guard who had us follow him to the parking area on the ground floor. There is NO signage for self-parking. Once you get into the hotel, it doesn't get much better. This was built to be very fancy and one-of-a-kind but it is really, really dated. The front desk staff was exceptionally friendly so I appreciate that. We were upgraded to a corner suite with a fantastic city skyline view. ALAS, it also overlooks KC's massive rail yards. Which are very busy night and day and you can HEAR the trains through the old sliding doors which are not sealed. It was a great view but we knew we'd get no sleep. So we were moved to a lesser suite facing some nondescript, empty 70s office buildings which was large but just as oddly shaped. However, that wasn't the problem. It was the absolutely filthy, dirty carpet and furniture that I couldn't get past. I mean, just gross. We'd already changed rooms once so there was no point to complain. I think they are all in equally bad shape. We got out and went to dinner elsewhere as quickly as possible. In the morning, we went to the Starbucks in the mall next door for a cheap, fast breakfast and checked out asap. What's interesting about this hotel is it was built to be a showpiece and now is just a dated footnote to what used to be a very influential company. Sad but fascinating. They need to spend a lot of money to make this hotel work again and I don't see any reason for that to happen. Only stay here if you want to spend a night in bizarre, fantastically faded time warp.

This hotel was very nice. The staff was very nice and extremely quick with requests. The pool was my favorite part. Most hotel pools these days are shallow only. This pool had a deep end that was roped off for adults to do laps- it was great! I stayed with my dogs and they put us in a room with a balcony that led right to a grassy area, which was very convenient. I didn’t eat at the restaurant in the hotel, but the concierge gave me a recommendation for a very yummy German spot around the corner. I only stayed one night, but I had a great time in Kansas City because of the hotel.

Overnight trip with our 3 year old grandson. The Westin is the perfect location. We walked to the aquarium and lunch at Fritz. Our grandson loved the glass elevator and the view from our corner room. The room itself had a nice TV and was clean. We would definitely stay here again.

At check in, I asked if my room would be at a quiet end of the hallway...the employee that was doing the check-in, worked some magic (and did some joking around since it was Folk Alliance weekend and some music floors can be pretty noisy) and we had a lovely room with a great view of Union Station. Thanks Westin for another great visit! The only downfall was that their coffee shop was closed and so if you just wanted a light snack for breakfast and some chai, you had to order the entire buffet breakfast...and coffee only. No thanks. Good thing there is a Starbucks in Crown Center. Easy walk.
