Blue Nile Cafe Reviews
This is the BEST Ethiopian restaurant I’ve been to. I’ve been to quite a few. Absolute soul food. Treat yourself. Half the menu is vegan and vegetarian. 🫶
Amazing weather for the patio. The food was delicious. We had a sampler combination for two.
Finger food is fun!
This is the third time I visit the restaurant. Always delicious!

Blue Nile Cafe is a beloved Ethiopian restaurant, known for its delicious dishes made with care. The injera, a traditional flatbread, is perfectly prepared, and the lentils, mushrooms, and cabbage are highly recommended. Diners can also enjoy the traditional honey wine. The combo platter is the way to go, offering a variety of expertly prepared and flavored veggie and meat dishes that can easily feed 3-4. The sour bread is so good. The flavors were poppin! The injera flatbread is soft, chewy, has many small bubbles, and is quite tart from the fermentation of the teff flour. For those who want it gluten-free, they also have a brown teff injera option. Atikeltt (cabbage and potato), Shimbera watt (chickpeas and green peas), and Inguday watt (mushrooms and onions) are favorite vegetarian dishes. The service is attentive, and the prices are reasonable for the high-quality food. The outdoor seating and unique decor add to the wonderful ambiance. Blue Nile Cafe is a must-visit spot in KC, catering to both vegetarians/vegans and meat lovers.
