We went there last weekend for the first time to grab a couple sandwiches. We got the #1 and the #2 and split. Hands-down best subs I have ever eaten! And not to mention they are large sandwiches. I highly recommend them!

Everything is grilled right there in front of you. Great taste, big portions. Everyone is friendly.

The food was very bland. Didn’t taste like real Italian food. Rice balls and chicken Parmesan sandwich wasn’t the greatest. I did love the market aspect of the store. Lots of great selections of dried pasta, olive oil etc.

My wife and I took a trip to KC for a fun overnight stay. We took the street car up to the City Market and visited the Arabian Steamboat Museum. When we got out we looked in the Market for a place to eat lunch. Stumbled upon this gem! She had the meatball sandwich and I had the Italian beef. They were wonderful! Tender shaved beef with fresh and tangy giardinera. Wow!

Napolitano sandwich was terrible. Bread was dry and hard. No flavor. Read a great review a year ago and was looking forward to one of these. I also got a sausage and peppers sandwich. Same complaint with the bread, I’ll never go back. Now i know.

I stood at the counter for 15 minutes and was completely ignored. A female came in, and before she made it to the counter, they asked what she needed. I left! I was looking forward to some capicola. I love going to the river market, but I doubt I ever step foot in Carollo's again.
