Great for cocktails, awful for breakfast. Either understaffed or they simply don’t care. Don’t even bother to have a restaurant when you leave people sitting at a table and don’t bring the food or drinks. Horrible experience.

Early on the evening of Thanksgiving 11/28/2024 my wife and I had dinner at Chaz on the Plaza. In short, it was one of the worst meals we had in quite a while. We knew that on Thanksgiving they would have a limited menu, but I expected the same level of quality as we have enjoyed in the past. Instead, our meal was mediocre at best. I ordered the prime rib and my wife the salmon. The prime rib was under seasoned and tasteless, topped in brown gravy. The salmon was under cooked, cool on the exterior and cold/raw on the inside. Our overall food experience was that of a subpar buffet. The food appeared to have been prepared on an assembly line without the level of quality and presentation I would have expected at Chaz. In the future I would avoid dining with them on these days where they don’t serve their normal menu.

What a great place. Old school steak house and decor. Jazz music playing while u eat it was incredible. One of THE best steaks I’ve ever eaten on the Plaza in my life. You could eat the filet with a fork it cut like butter. I was always a plaza 3 guy but obviously they are gone. Just a great experience check it out.

I stayed two nights at the Raphael Hotel on the Plaza and enjoyed three meals at the Chaz. The first was a late lunch after arriving from Houston. I had the lobster bisque and the mashed potatoes, and both were fantastic. I had breakfast on the two mornings following. The first breakfast was the breakfast sandwich, and it was amazing. For the second breakfast, I had the Raphael Omelet, and it did not fail to satisfy. I'd definitely recommend The Chaz when in Kansas City, MO.

Food was pretty good, flavor was there for the most part. Added scallops for $12 and got one single individual scallop. Bread was disgusting, and the dessert was inedible, like literally couldn’t even break off a piece of cake to try. The drinks were good, calamari was fantastic but crab cake was a joke, tasted like deep fried tuna salad. Steak and Wellington were good, steak was way over cooked for what we ordered but still great. Server didn’t really seem to care, the only person who acted like they really even wanted to be there was the bartender. Staying at the hotel it makes it convenient but other than that I’d probably never go out of my way to eat here.

Always enjoy the Chaz. Tonight the music was wonderful and the dinner even better. Certainly one of the best dining experiences in KC.

Lacey was our waitress for the evening and she was amazing! The hostess (who was also lovely but whose name I missed) was able to seat us ahead of our reservation time and mentioned the notes we made on our reservation.
Lacey came over to serve us, explained the menu, made sure we had everything we needed the entire night, and offered suggestions based on our various inquiries. She also mentioned our notes from the reservation we made in advance. Her presentation on the Hazy Hayden was perfect.
The appetizers were scrumptious, but the Duke Wellington and the monthly special Lobster Roll were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The desert menu has some great options, but the house made chocolate gelato was the perfect ending.
Thank you, Lacey, and thank you to everyone at Chaz that made our dinner spectacular!

My wife and I visited this place for the first time. Around 1:30pm.
I ordered the roast beef sandwich with salad. It was good.
She ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and fries. The chick breast size 1/3rd of the size of the bread. No mayonnaise or anything else in the sandwich, the fries were almost raw but dripping oil.
I am giving this place 2 stars because the bartender who brought us our food was very nice.
Atmosphere was very nice because we sat in the patio
