I really enjoyed trying their neareastern cuisine. We ordered the 6 messes, short ribs, and basque cheesecake, and thoroughly enjoyed the messes and short ribs. Our server was kind and knowledgeable about the menu. We didn't have as much luck with the cheesecake. We ordered it to go and waited more than 25 minutes for it. It just had to be cut and put in a container so not sure what happened there. The previous time we came here we were ignored by the host for 10 minutes without explanation, so our experience with service was a mixed bag.
Cool atmosphere- good music, unique architecture, and adorable goldfish in the bathtub. Some people may have qualms with the pipes that dripped condensation on our table, but I doubt this is a problem on a cooler day.
Portion sizes are not huge relative to price but the food was savory and delicious and felt worth it. All in all- definitely would encourage anyone to give this place a try.

Four of us shared the Saganaki, a plate of six different spreads, a Greek Salad, and the grandma's pizza. The quality of the bread impressed us (the pizza crust and the pita? naan?). Actually, everything was delicious, except for the Greek Salad, which was a big letdown. The tomatoes were a very pale color, and the olives were a canned black olive. It honestly did not deserve to share a table with the rest of the food we enjoyed.
Space is limited. Expect to over hear other tables' conversations. But I would definitely recommend dining here (I would just suggest avoiding the Greek Salad).

The food was amazing but I didn't realize I was wearing an invisibility cloak. It took 2 reminders and 30 minutes to get a bottle of wine for our table and 2 people were notified for more bread but it never showed up(except for on the bill).

I can't say enough good things about Clay & Fire. I went as part of a large group and our server, Brooklyn, told us that for large groups they offer a family style tasting menu that encompasses most of their menu for $45ish apiece. I'm SO glad we went that route, as we got to try some truly incredible dishes we wouldn't have ordered otherwise.
We had the mezze platter and enjoyed several different spreads, my personal favorite being the girit ezme (a feta, pistachio, and basil spread). There was also a fantastic spicy yogurt I loved but honestly, you couldn't go wrong with any of them. We also tried their Greek salad and a yummy cauliflower/green bean side, which were both great.
We enjoyed both their Grandma's Pizza (which was yummy and so fresh) and trabzom pide (with a runny egg in the middle, so unexpected and so good)! Finally, we got two dishes of kharcho to share and a kebab platter with chicken, koobideh, and lamb. I loved the chicken and koobideh, and my friends who eat lamb said that was really good too.
Personally, my favorite thing we ate was the kharcho. It was delicious beef short rib over polenta with a tomato sauce and I'm already making plans to come back so I can eat it again.
I wish we could've tried the desserts, but I'm sure you understand why we were just too full. The cocktails were also great and we were told they infuse their alcohols in house, which definitely showed.
I mentioned Brooklyn earlier, but I have to shout her out again - she was AMAZING. Her recommendations and knowledge were on point and she was so kind and attentive to our large party, even though she was busy. We sincerely appreciated her.
I also got to speak to the owner of the restaurant, who was so nice and even recommended another restaurant for us to try during our next group dinner. Clay & Fire is a great place for anyone who likes Middle Eastern food. Definitely check it out!

Wonderful restaurant, quaint and well decorated. Food was excellent. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars was the price realtive to portion size. Meze platter was 24$ for six 2 or 3 oz portions of dips and pita. Chicken kabab was tasty but 18$ for 8-10oz of chicken and 2 cups of rice. Good quality but not value. Service was very good.
