Zero Zero Handmade Pasta is a cozy and intimate restaurant with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The space is teeny-tiny, seating only 12 people inside, but it feels comfortable and quaint, like dining at a friend’s home. An outdoor patio opening this spring will help with obtaining reservations. The service is exceptional, warm, and personable, with staff who are very knowledgeable of the menu.
All food is house-made. Starters like the focaccia with whipped ricotta are pillowy and golden, studded with fresh rosemary. The Caesar salads are fresh and flavorful. The pasta is the star, with dishes like the lumache alla norcina—beautiful snail shell-shaped pasta with luscious crumbled Italian pork sausage and light white wine cream. The butternut squash agnolotti is rich and perfectly cooked, with fried sage and deeply caramelized sweet little hazelnuts. The pesto rosso burrata is wonderful. The Basque cheesecake is deliciously burnt-ish on top. For dessert, the tiramisu lacked cocoa powder. Overall, every dish is fresh, flavorful, and worth every single penny. This is the best pasta in KC and a little hidden gem.
