“Walking into what looks from the outside to be a tiny, intimate place, the expectation was high. Dark interior is elegant and the drink and food menu seemed quite good. That is until the food arrived. While salad was very good with fresh ingredients, everything else, from spaghetti with meatballs, deviled eggs, to calamari, they were with overcooked, lacked flavor, or simply wrong. Pasta should be more al dente while meatballs should be, well, meatballs instead of weirdly shaped salty ground beef. Deviled eggs shouldn’t taste chalky (that said, it was better as a cold leftover). And calamari would’ve been a better dish as grilled, not deep fried fast food. Given its excellent service and classy ambiance, let’s hope they figure out how to enhance their food situation.“

“Ragazza is my favorite restaurant. We’ve been several times. Tonight we had Liz as a server and Channing helped out as well. Both of them were awesome. The food.. as always was awesome. Drinks superb. If you haven’t tried Ragazza you should. The Eggplant parm is my favorite but everything is honestly delicious.“

“My wife and I had dinner here last night, and we can't stop talking about how much we enjoyed our experience. For appetizers, we went with the meatballs and carne crudo (beef tartare), and they were excellent. For dinner, we went with the Salsiccio pizza, and we added two pastas: vodka and bolognese. The tiramisu was amongst the best we have ever had. All in all, the food was phenomenal. What made this experience even more special was the elite customer service. I can't emphasize enough how friendly and courteous the team was.“

“Whooooa. We've driven by this little place a million times but never stopped by, which a was a huge mistake. The store itself is great, with drinks, desserts, and some really cool antique KC items. The food? FANTASTIC. We got the lasagna with Alfredo, toasted ravioli, chicken spiedini, and the Italian beef pizza. The service was also great; food was ready on time, and despite being lunch-hour busy, they answered all my questions and took the time to make sure everything was correct. Highly recommend Jovito's!“

When I tell you that the steak spiedini (chef special, not always on the menu) *changed my life*..... WOW - I've thought about it several times a week since my visit. We had fabulous service and they were very accommodating to a couple of dietary needs of our table. Tiramisu was divine. A perfect spot for a date night or just great food anytime.“

“The food was delicious, but I really wanted to make a point to leave a review about our server. From the very beginning, Tayla was attentive and kind. She made sure to give great descriptions of the food, but the real icing on the cake was how much she went above and beyond. We brought in a cake from the bakery, and the host offered to keep it in the fridge for us. Tayla brought out the cake for us to take pictures and sing happy birthday, and then took it to the back to cut it. The cake was butterfly themed, and she cut out my mom's piece to look like a butterfly. We cannot recommend this restaurant enough, but highly recommend asking for Tayla.“

In 2025 my husband and I had a small wedding at the Crossroads Hotel and an intimate dinner for friends and family in the private dining room. Our friends and family still rave about the amazing food and hospitality and we have never stopped recommending this place to anyone we meet who asks for recommendations in the area. My husband and I have been craving to come back here ever since that day and our 1 year anniversary sparked the perfect occasion. We have had nothing but great experiences with this hotel and this restaurant. From the moment you check in at reception to taking that final delectable bite, the experience is top notch. I have worked in restaurants in the Kansas City metro for more than a decade and can truly say that Lazia takes the cake. The dedication that is put into each detail is commendable and makes the experience worth every penny. The chicken parm is simple but delicious and the braised pork shoulder with polenta melts in your mouth. The Carpaccio is one of a kind and my life was changed by the hazelnut tiramisu. But I wouldn’t do this review justice without pointing out the reason we have come back to this restaurant and that reason is the team that most graciously hosted us and in particular, one team member named Stu. When we first came Lazia, we met Stu when we had our wedding dinner in the private room. The way he spoke about each dish was truly heart warming. We had never been to a restaurant and met someone who spoke so passionately about their job. He truly made our wedding dinner and our experience once again one year later on our anniversary. We were shocked to learn that he is in fact not the Chef, but just a man who truly believes in the food he is presenting and the team he is a part of. Not only was was the team first rate from the hostess to our service team and management, but it would not have been complete without Stu. Although we came back to this restaurant for our love of good food and 5 star wine, what solidified our return was our memory of Stu and how he truly made our small wedding feel like the most important event of the weekend. If we had one request it would simply be this, give Stu a raise and ensure you keep this man in your employ because he is the phenomenal finish to what is already and exquisite experience.“
