50 Best Italian Restaurants near Kansas City

“best pasta I've ever had and crazy high portions for less than 15$“

“Found Avenues through a Groupon. We bought the Shrimp Boil, Filet and Shrimp Scampi, Antipasto platter, and two cannolis. The meal portions were huge, our order could have easily fed 4 people. The shrimp boil was spicy, with a lot of shrimp, potatoes, sausage, and a whole ear of corn. The filet was flavorful, and the shrimp scampi was served similar to Alfredo, it tasted so good! The antipasto platter has lots of yummy bites, I really enjoyed the salami and artichoke hearts. The cannolis were great too! They also included a little bag of decorated mini cookies, with a ribbon and Go Royals! tag. I'm sure it was part of one of the entrees we ordered, but an unexpected but delightful little bread pudding was in our ca bag as well. Food was great, portions were large, and the staff at curbside was very nice. I do wish GPS hadn't left us about halfa block away though.“

“Usually great food, and we est here often. However, last week we were 100% dissatisfied! First, the entire meal was late, they had to substitute knots for garlic bread, waited forever and the calzone had literally one piece of meat about 1"x1.5" and what looked like a mozzarella stick for cheese. The meal was gross, late, over cooked and not what we ordered or paid for. So disappointed. Since it is a long drive we regularly make I doubt we will be returning. $34 meal wasted.“

“Maybe it was the timing.. but it was sooo loud and the food had no seasoning.. salmon was over cooked and broccoli was under cooked. But I couldn't wait to leave.. Babies screaming and crying. Just my first bad experience. 😒 but our waiter was great.“

“This is a classic Pizza option at a really well maintained restaurant. It is a small, family-owned business that has a loyal client base. Their special pink salad dressing is amazing! It's easy to get to, there's lots of parking and you always get great service. They have a very affordable lunch deal and a rewards punch card. It's a relaxed place to sit down and chat with group. You can also watch sports on the TV if you go by yourself.“

“Absolutely amazing staff and DELICIOUS FOOD! I went after a run and some of the nicest people ever! We made super happy plates!“

“My party consisted of 3 people, 1 with a shellfish allergy and 2 without. Upon notifying the serving staff the manager came to our table to inform us that extra safety and handling measures were being taken, and going as far as bringing out the shellfish free dish separately by him. This created a sense of care and relief that I have not experienced at an establishment. Thank you for going the extra mile and creating a very memorable experience.“

“Ordered this from uber eats. OMG!!!!! Everything was soooo good! Huge portions! Cooked to perfection! Idk where the photos that are on here from before came from but please disregard that other ones because this was perfect! I am a huge critic and I honestly thought I was going to be disappointed because I looked at the gogole review photos after I placed my order....and I am absolutely impressed. The quality and value here are unmatched. A certain burrito bowl and kids choice taco meal with chips and guac and a large queso cost the same to deliver as two catfish combos, a chicken strip combo and three drinks a shake and a chicken leg and mashed potatoes and gravy. The okra covered the entire bottom of the container, my daughter's chicken strip side, cheese fries came in it's own container and it was FULL. It took the driver 17 minutes to get here and the fish was still hot and the breading was still crispy e to enjoy. They didn't forget the sauces either! Also, they have strawberry Fanta.... bonus points. Again. I can't say enough. You have got to try this place.“

“Everything we got was amazing! The meatballs were a dense but decedent with the sauce. The vodka pasta was good, but the chicken parm sandwich blew it out of the water!
Love the atmosphere as well as the weird swan sink faucet and will be back for the happy hour. Services was a tad bit slow, but not slow enough to knock it down a star. Everyone working was very nice and our server was awesome!“

“The service and the food… 12/10! This was our first visit, but anytime we visit KC, we will be back! 🫶🏻“

“The chicken parm sandwich and Italian steak parm sandwich-both delicious. Did some shopping as well- some authentic Italian ingredients and premade for those of us not as gifted!! Fun place to eat in.“

“After multiple delightful experiences at Viona’s Italian Bistro I was eager to have them cater our “Worksgiving”! Despite the ongoing Farmer’s Market construction in the area, this charming family-owned Italian gem truly shines. The warm, welcoming intimate dine in atmosphere and attentive service make you feel right at home. The catering was no different, she helped me plan a variety of entrees to be served buffet style for a group of 30 (mostly men) and executed it beautifully with leftovers. Their authentic dishes, with rich yet perfectly balanced, flavorful pastas and sauces, are crafted with fresh ingredients and love. Don’t let the construction deter you—this hidden treasure is ABSOLUTELY worth the visit. Supporting local businesses like this keeps the heart of our community alive. Highly recommend for anyone craving genuine Italian cuisine!“

“Ragazza is my favorite restaurant. We’ve been several times. Tonight we had Liz as a server and Channing helped out as well. Both of them were awesome. The food.. as always was awesome. Drinks superb. If you haven’t tried Ragazza you should. The Eggplant parm is my favorite but everything is honestly delicious.“

“Great food with great atmosphere“

“The food was great and the prices were even better. They have great kids options and great desserts. The best part of it all is that the meal came with complimentary, all you can eat in breadsticks. Breadsticks are so soft and fluffy. I highly recommend“

“Great food. Great Service. Lasagna is incredible. Looking forward to returning.“

“Time after time I am redundant, As someone who has had some of the best Italian food from Little Italy in lower Manhattan to Rome, Florence and Venice we are qualified to say that every dish from the pizza to the pastas and dishes like sausages and peppers is done to perfection with love and affection. Consistently excellent no matter what day you visit. You can't get better Italian food in the Kansas City metro.“

“A friend and I stopped by for lunch. We confirmed pretty much that all of the good things people are saying about this spot are true. The outside seating area on the sidewalk is really nice. We were absolutely not forgotten about our service was excellent.
The items we ordered were delicious. We shared a pizza and a salad that we added chicken too. I will definitely go back again. It’s a fun place just to wander around and look at the local stores after lunch.“

“If you are looking for a quaint little spot for a romantic dinner, or out for a bachelorette party, or a simple girl's night out this is the place to get dressed up and enjoy good food, drinks and the company you are celebrating with. I do suggest you make reservations as the place is small and seats fill up quick.“

“Whooooa. We've driven by this little place a million times but never stopped by, which a was a huge mistake. The store itself is great, with drinks, desserts, and some really cool antique KC items. The food? FANTASTIC. We got the lasagna with Alfredo, toasted ravioli, chicken spiedini, and the Italian beef pizza. The service was also great; food was ready on time, and despite being lunch-hour busy, they answered all my questions and took the time to make sure everything was correct. Highly recommend Jovito's!“

“This small family owned business went on their way to make a Grandma's birthday dinner special from her granddaughter who is 1900 miles away. Ross went out of his way and delivered her special birthday dinner and dropped it off after he got off working I truly appreciate their kindness“

“Literal heaven on earth!! If you love simple Italian food with big flavor you do not want to miss out on this place!! Amazing atmosphere and everyone was super sweet! Sounds of people talking and laughing!🍝😇💯 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ / 5 🤌🏽“

“Darion was excellent. Simply excellent. This was our first visit here and we were not disappointed. Huge shareable portions, everything was hot and fresh. We will definitely be coming back. What an experience; so much fun and laughter over an excellent meal.“

“Hands down probably one of the best places I’ve ever had Italian food at. Their sauce has to be one of the best if not THE best I’ve ever had! Their pasta was absolutely great too. Great food and we had a great server as well! Will definitely be coming back soon. Thank you all very much!“

“When my wife said she brought home “car wash lasagna” I was skeptical to say the least. Hands down the best lasagna I’ve ever had, I’m only mad I hadn’t heard of this place sooner.“

“Pasta was amazing. staff was very attentive. Definitely be back. Best dinner ever. ❤️“

“wish I'd ate there sooner ! my new go to ! love this place“

“The food was delicious, but I really wanted to make a point to leave a review about our server. From the very beginning, Tayla was attentive and kind. She made sure to give great descriptions of the food, but the real icing on the cake was how much she went above and beyond. We brought in a cake from the bakery, and the host offered to keep it in the fridge for us. Tayla brought out the cake for us to take pictures and sing happy birthday, and then took it to the back to cut it. The cake was butterfly themed, and she cut out my mom's piece to look like a butterfly. We cannot recommend this restaurant enough, but highly recommend asking for Tayla.“

“Erica is a great bartender to say the least but she is extremely knowledgeable regarding the menu and literally led us to have the most amazing dinner/dinner date on our first night at KC. Would highly recommend to anyone and everyone. Sit at the restaurant bar and you will see.
The food is amazing. Get the grilled
Octopus/ the Waygu/ and the pulled pork.
Out of this world!!“

“Hands down the best Italian restaurant in the city!“

“Great place!“

“I went for my first time yesterday on many recommendations. I ordered a Executive Park sandwich and it was huge, fresh and so tasty! I will be back! The employees were so helpful and friendly also.“

“Very nice atmosphere, delicious wine, and they have Joe for a bartender! Who could ask for more? We’ll be back!“

“great food, great drinks , great service what else you need“

“Very friendly atmosphere! Great service and amazing food! Get a cookie ya'll“

“We just ate here for the first time and first of all the pizza was delicious. Maybe best pizza I’ve eaten ever. But backstory, my mom just passed away a week and a half ago and we’ve been on the struggle bus and our server was so incredibly kind to us and there was a magician they hired walking around doing tricks for tables. He was not only amazing and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing but more importantly, he brought us joy to us in a dark time and I will forever be such a fan of this restaurant. It was so needed for myself and my little family and I can’t wait to recommend this place to all. ❤️ Thank you again for a happy night.“

“I was so impressed tonight when I went to this location. The manager was so caring about my food allergies and went above and beyond to make sure there was no mozzarella in my pizza.“

“Good food! Our 3 kids all have very different food preferences, and they all were happy with their dinners. The pizza crust was the right amount of chewy without being doughy, and the pizza itself was loaded with toppings.“

“5 stars 🤩 amazing chocolate cake and wonderful food amazing prices great customer service“

“Cheesy bread is out of this world!!! Gotta get romesean on your crust. Love this place!“

“Good food! Our 3 kids all have very different food preferences, and they all were happy with their dinners. The pizza crust was the right amount of chewy without being doughy, and the pizza itself was loaded with toppings.“

“Custom pizza with an extra crispy crust — cooked exactly right. Service was outstanding, and impressive given the staff skewed young; they handled a Labor Day rush without missing a beat. Didn't expect them to be open until 9pm on the holiday, but glad they were. Salads were fresh and well made. Full bar too. Genuinely good quality all around — will be back.“

“Pizza is great, also have sandwiches and pizza by the slice“

“Great place to eat!“

“I really enjoy the staff, I have sent several employees here for lunch ?“

“The Prairie Village location is sooooo great. Staff. food. fast service. All so very good. When I call in an order they are always very happy to assist me. The Website does not work. It would be so much better if I could order ahead (like I used to).“

“The delivery driver was so so sweet! He even called to see what soda we wanted since they were out of our first choice. Pizza and breadsticks arrived very quickly. Everything tasted AMAZING! Made me feel much better after a very bad day. Only thing I would say is the breadsticks needed more of the sprinkle topping, and it would be ABSOLUTE PERFECTION. Will be ordering again :D!“

“We used to have Minsky's in Iowa and this place was just like it. Everything tasted just the same. My only complaint was my cheeseburger pizza was way too heavy on the mustard and did take away from the overall taste the bites that didn't were great but could only taste the mustard in others. The service was great and we have already planned to grab take and bake pizzas before we head back to Iowa.“

“Excellent Italian food! Good service. Everybody that I ever dealt with that works there has always been kind and professional! I am a born and raised Italian from New York City... and this place is as close to home as I can get for Italian food!!!“
