Good Food!!

I picked up an order for doordash that just made my entire car smell delicious. It made me want to get some of the food as soon as possible. I love trying new foods, this however felt like I had had it before but not in a long time. btw I was right. The food was amazing. I had the Ghost Pepper Goat Soup, which is phenomenal. I happened to read a couple comments before going, there is an older lady that works there occasionally and I’d assume she is the matriarch of the family. When I attended there were 4 younger kids and the service was equal to the food, spectacular. Not sure who Jill Arnold is but just stay out of Kansas City’s family restaurants please. Especially if you don’t have anything nice to say. People out here are breaking their backs to serve us, the least we can be is thankful and grateful for the food and service, let alone each breath I allow you to continue to take (just facts). I will definitely eat here again and tell my friends about how wonderful the entire experience is.
I saw the place when it first opened and the decor now is the renovation which is so cute and well done for what they could manage on their own, and in West Africa it’s about the company you keep, your friends, family and the food, not the paint on the walls. Be respectful guests as you enter someone’s home and business, your money doesn’t make you the owner nor allow you to treat others like trash. The food here is top notch. The family and hired friends are the best folks!!! On se voit plus tard!!!

The food was very salty. The front desk person wasn't professional.

We ordered rice with mackerel fish and plantain. First, they brought over riped plantains for one person, and they told us they ran out of plantain for the rest of us. After doing back and forth, they finally offered us samosa as replacement for the plantain and the samosa was looking really strange.

Oh My Goodness!! This place is EVERYTHING!! First thing you notice is no salt and pepper on the tables. The food takes a while to get done but its so worth it. I had whole tilapia and jollof rice. The plantains were out of this world!! The jollof was oh my god this is so good! I was recommended to go here by my classmate and boy he gets an A+!!! I love Fannies!!

Horrible customer service. Went to Fannie’s West African Cuisine on Sunday June 1, 2025 around 6pm. My husband and I walked in, it wasn’t crowded at all. A young African woman told us we could be seated and pointed across the room and then told us she would be over there to take our order in 10 minutes. It looks like it might have been about 6 people in the restaurant at that time.

She came to our table about 10 minutes later, to take our orders. She stood behind my back and took our order as she mumbled off what we were ordering. Very unenthusiastic as possible and never looked me or my husband in our face. She seemed like she was annoyed that we showed up. She kept walking away from us in the middle of our order.

My husband ordered a ginger drink off of their menu which had a price next to it of $4.50. I ordered a bottled water for $1.00.

We then ordered goat stew and their fried rice. After sitting there for a while, she came back to our table and mumbled, that they don’t have anymore goat.

We told her we just want to cancel our order and pay for our drinks. She demanded $6.50 for my husband’s 4.50 drink. I told her the drink on her menu reflects $4.50. She said “No More”. Which I guess she was saying, the price on the menu is not correct and still demanded the $6.50.

I gave her $6.00 cash and left. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, as long as that woman is representing their company.

Horrible experience! She made us feel like we were bothering her or an inconvenience to her.

I’ll spend my money elsewhere. Never again!!

We ordered 3 different dishes and couldn't eat it. Too much salt. Someone needs to do quality check on the food before they serve. They have food customer service but food is terrible

They can work on a more thoughtful inviting style for the restaurant it almost looks like they are closing the store . Wasnt a fan of there version of joloff rice . Im used to the ghanian and nigerian style. The food is fresh and delicious it takes awhile because it's fresh so no complaints. Will be back .

Egusi soup was little bit salty, but other foods like jollof rice, pepper soup, etc. were perfect. Overall it was great experience. Will definitely come back again.
