We just arrived from Dallas for a funeral and wanted some good food. Sorry this wasn’t the place. BBQ was cold and the sauce. My fish was cold as well and they even had nerve to bring me another piece that was cold as well. Hush puppies were raw inside and the worse I’ve ever had. The only thing I enjoyed was the sprite. Please save your money and don’t eat here.

I go in to Gates all the time and always have a great experience the best is when they say how may I help you very loud and clear I’ve been going again since I was a little kid. I’m 40 years old now. Thank you for staying open and keeping the business the same.

Our hostess Tina was outstanding. She noticed my sandwich was not up to par and offered to take care of it and rectified the situation immediately. She was very attentive and made us feel very comfortable. The food was delicious and bought some spice to take home. I definitely recommend the turkey and burnt end sandwiches, potato salad, macaroni salad and the cut potatoes.

Purchased a $30+ piece of pork jerky that was supposed to be a slab of ribs.

Omgggg the bbq was the best. I had never had sausages like these....almost like a meatloaf texture and spicy! Woooohooooo! Met Mr Gates....classy guy!

This is my favorite BBQ in the country. Friendly staff great good and always quick. The atmosphere is excellent there are different areas to sit to get a different experience. Definitely recommend to anyone who likes BBQ or is wanting to try.

Food was ok at best. 13.95 for a piece of chicken and had to pay 6.50 for 6oz of potato salad and 6.50 for 6 oz of beans, unless you go in sundays when sides are free. Just seemed overpriced for what you get and the quality.

The woman at the cash register on Friday evening was incredibly rude. Acted like we were a huge inconvenience and was very short when we asked about different menu items. Other servers were nice. Overall the restaurant is dated and a little dingy. Food was decent, not great. Burnt ends looked like a loose meat sandwich.

Lovegates, always get the noonet me and my wife get the beef nooner.Sometimes we'll switch it up and get a platter, but it's always on point everytime
