“I went to SideStreet last night, for my first visit. It's probably the friendliest LGBTQ+ establishment in town. All ages, sizes, shades, types, etc. I could walk up to any person or group and feel welcome.“
“A fun little dive gay bar. The decor is dated- showing its history if you take the time to look around. They have a dedicated dance floor and enclosed smoking patio. There is a second bar that opens on busy nights by the dance floor, a pool table for slower nights, and lots of dart boards for either. Bartenders are personable, owner is present often, and the music varies depending on the crowd.“

“Going on 4 years and this place just gets better and better! While you can always find entertainment here the service stays on point! Very attentive. The outside patio is beautiful and gives some space while you eat. We love the lamb and wygau beef burgers. My kids eat the pizza and wings while I enjoy their yummy cocktails! From burgers to nachos and eveything in between you'll feel like you ate anywhere but a bar. Just make sure to get a side of ranch for yourself! Gaels is constantly helping organizations in the community with fundraising and support! A true beacon in kc!“

“I came, I made a request for a song for karaoke night at Missie B's in Kansas City, Missouri, it's a gay bar. I waited almost two hours. I was invisible. At the end of the night I asked her to take my name off the list. My Uber arrived. The karaoke DJ sang three times after I made my request. I was the only Latino who asked to sing at an otherwise empty bar. Latinos are invisible in Kansas City, I guess. But being shamed by a fellow black person was too much. Dorian kicked me out. I'm also black. He threatened to call the cops on me, after explaining why I felt unseen. As an attorney who is black and Latino that was deeply offensive. As a visitor from out of town, I have never been made to feel so unwelcome. I will never come back here again. If you know me you know me. Dorian calls the cops on Latinos. We are not seen here and we are not welcome. Even when we are educated and come with grace and respect.“

“Need a quiet comfy spot to talk with friends? They've got it. Need a sweet patio vibe? A night dancing? A bar scene? Photo ops? They literally have it all. The energy is always amazing, staff is incredible, and it's a safe space for a community I'm proud to be a part of 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️“
