Family event at the golden ox on September 20. My daughter ordered a Haw filet with medium rare bacon. The steak arrived very overcooked and the server was informed right away. The server brought out the second steak after the rest of the party had completed their meals. This steak was very undercooked – it was raw in the center and sent back. The server did remove the steak from our final bill as per my request.
I understand these things occur, but this is extremely disappointing. Given the restaurant’s premium pricing I expected much higher standards in terms of quality and execution. I am also disappointed that despite letting our server know of the errors, the general manager never came to the table to address the situation or offer an apology. This lack of acknowledgement left us feeling undervalued as guests. The specifics of our experience were sent via email to the restaurant and no one has contacted me to acknowledge my feedback much less apologize. Terrible experience!!

We went for my birthday with high expectations. What a huge disappointment!!!! You'd think that when you are paying $60-80 plus dollars for just the steak that it would be awesome! Nope we ordered our steak medium rare and they came out burnt!! So freaking tough that the whole table shook just trying to cut it!! A loaded baked potato for $10 bucks which barley had any toppings. Well all I can say is Texas Roadhouse has better steaks and a baked potatoes comes with your meal fully loaded. What a let down!!! Well I guess we can say we've been there and won't be going back!!!!!!!!

Typically within my travels a steak house like this is unimpressive when you evaluate the value of the meal. This establishment does not fall into that stereotype. The menu does offer some unique selections to break up the monotony of typical steak cuts. Do not sleep on the arrachera or be dissuaded by the cut. The flavor and tenderness was great and definitely unique when compared to typical steak house options. The whiskey selection is phenomenal and the quality of service is fantastic. One of the best restaurants I have visited in the Kansas City area.

Arrived early for our reservation and the hostess completely forgot about us and still made us wait an extra 10 minutes for our table even though there were only about six tables seated. Bartenders were amazing. The hostess turned out to also be our server. She forgot what we ordered for soup and salad, had to ask for refills 3 times on soda and water, and she seemed to not know how to recommend selections. The floor was greasy near the restroom. The steaks were delicious but the cream spinach was salty.

One of my favorite places to visit when I have a craving for steak. The steaks are well seasoned. I dont understand why people are saying salty because its not. Only thing I would say is on the salty side is the shrimp. Other than that. Ive always had a great experience every time I visited.
