Granite City Food & Brewery

We has ever been to Granite City for the Thanksgiving buffet. Our appointment was at 6:00 and I expected should be warmer and in better shape. Frankly, it was mediocre and I'm not sure that I would come back on Thanksgiving. It was obvious that the servers and those working we're ready to be done. They were very few people and I understand why they were very few people.

Very unpleasant experience for the most part. They ran out of pie an hour before closing the buffet and the spoons were sticky and nasty and dirty, and the plates were filthy. The heat was so hot. Everybody was standing themselves and they wouldn't turn it down. We have priced for what we got. Again very disappointed, but server was pretty good

Four of us attended the Thanksgiving buffet offered on the 27th. We had reservations for 11:00 and arrived at that time. We were prompted checked in and seated near the buffet line. Food was plentiful and hot. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We certainly enjoyed our experience here and will probably be back next Thanksgiving. Thank you Granite City.

The buffet was fine ... although the best item offered was the roasted beans and carrots and everything else was pretty much indistinguishable from what one might find at any given restaurant at any given time. Even though it WAS a buffet, it would have been nice if the “server” (who was more than happy to offer a payment device which helpfully suggested a series of generous tip amounts) had stopped by to take dirty dishes, refill water glasses, offer additional napkins, etc. ... you know, provided “service”.

I enjoy going to Granite City, it an be a bit loud but otherwise you can comfortably talk with your friends.

I read reviews and I'm glad I decided to go check the place out myself. We had a very nice experience. The food was hot fast and delicious. The service was impeccable and the value was nice on the pockets. We will be back! 

Fantastic place. Good people. Good food. Good atmosphere. Will go back over and over and over.

Long day and sick wife at home that just wanted a good chicken pot pie. Only place around that has it on the menu and I was driving so I tried to call and order it to go. No answer. Tried again and again and no answer. Had to get off the highway and order on line. Set the pick up time to 7:30pm so I would get there before it was finished and it would be hot. I arrived at 7:30 and the order was sitting at the hostess stand already, barely warm. The ticket said 7:10pm… I asked the hostess if they could re-heat it. 5 min later they brought it back out kinda warm. I live less than 1 mile away and went straight home. Room temp AT BEST.
For the $14.75 + tax, save yourself the trouble and just stop at the grocery store and get 3 of them. They’ll taste just as good and you can have 3 HOT meals.

Slim shady is the best (I mean, also Christina!) excellent and quick service, great suggestions on menu items according to my tastes and awesome conversation.
