My family and I were excited to get ice cream and we saw that this particular spot had raving reviews. We stood in line to try it out for ourselves, but once we were up, we weren’t greeted. The employees literally just stared at us. No help or guidance with the menu. I even mentioned that it was our first time, but still, no one offered any suggestions. I was expecting great customer service, along with great ice cream, but we were definitely let down. We left and got ice cream elsewhere. Very disappointed.
Exceeded my expectations. Black seemed and browned butter cookie dough for the win!
Hands down my favorite ice cream ever. Staff are warm and welcoming, ice cream is phenomenal, all around a delightful experience! Thank you, High Hopes, for all you do!!! 🍦 🍨 🎉🥰❣️
Ended up here after reading other reviews and it did not disappoint. Some of the very best ice cream I’ve ever had. They made a turtle sundae for my husband as a special request and he loved it! Reasonably priced to the quality. Outstanding!
Superb icecream, best i ever had !!!
After our bestie Betty Rae turned sad we pivoted and tried High Hopes. I couldn't be more pleased. Texture, flavor, quality and price were outstanding. A gem for KC. Good vibes too, really nice staff.
I had high hopes for this place as it came very highly rated. It was my first time and had some questions. The gentleman with the red hair was not pleasant and seemed annoyed with my questions (about the flavors). There was no one behind me. He and the blond lady just stared silently while I was reading the menu. I still ordered as my kids were there but not coming back. I really wanted to like it as we love supporting small business. It crushes me to leave this review.
Great ice cream
Finally tried yesterday and the brown butter cookie dough ice cream is to die for. Possibly the best ice cream in kc
Black sesame ice cream was unique and delicious! So was the crème brûlée. Just creamy and delicious.

Bourbon pecan is just 👌 perfect!
I love this place so much. I always look forward to seeing what flavors they’ve invented and the whole place is so cute!People behind the counter were very kind and patient even with a HUGE group and tons of samples. Please never ever close this place :-)
Best homemade ice cream around. Huge variety of options. If you show up and there is a wait, its for a reason. Get in line.
This place has the perfect name, “High Hopes.” You HOPE it’s good. Spoiler alert— it’s not.
Came here with the HOPE of vegan options, having read reviews saying there were plenty. There was only one. Which was average at best.
Ordered a hot mocha latte, came in a plastic cup. Which chocolate drizzle on the side…?
If you drink another species’ milk and like bad coffee, this place is for you.
Jesus. Mary. Joseph.
Blown. Away. High Hopes doesn't just serve ice cream--they serve magic in a cone. I sampled several flavors (because how could I not?), and finally landed on a trio: S'mores, Cookie Dough, and Local Breakfast. Each one was delicious in its own right, but the S'mores? Game changer.
It was like someone roasted a marshmallow over a real campfire, swirled it into rich chocolate, and folded in graham cracker dreams. The subtle smokiness in the scoop? Unreal. It tasted like summer nights and nostalgia.
Cookie Dough was classic and packed with chunks (none of that skimpy dough nonsense), and Local Breakfast was a wild, wonderful ride--think maple, buttery vibes, and a cozy, early-morning sweetness.
High Hopes, you absolutely nailed it. Thank you for existing in this city. I'm already planning my next trip back.
