Brought my 87 yo Dad to High Hopes today and was not disappointed in the quality and variety of flavors and the great service. Dad went with classic Strawberry and I had Bourbon Butter Pecan, which was so good. We also taste-tested the Key Lime, which was amazing. 10 stars for this walk-up ice cream shop on Troost near Rockhurst!

Ive been to High Hopes Twice, both times the ice cream was excellent. The menu is unique, the staff super friendly. Its a walk up kind of place with tables on the sidewalk. So for those Betty Rae Ice cream folks this is a different vibe. We took our ice cream and ate it in the car. Not a big fan of walking down the street in this location. With Blackhole Bakery across the street this is a great location to visit two local joints with one trip. The ice cream is really good. Its better than Betty Rae's (now that they sold to shatto milk) i think the flavor has been downgraded. Looking for a new flavor in town this place has it.

Best Ices cream shop in the Kansas city metro area. From their coffee drinks to hot chocolate to their ice cream. I have never had anything bad from this place. I hope they bring back the bread pudding.
