It was a shame that we couldn't find this place. Saw no signage, the one side street that we thought it was on, just off of Wabash, led into a gated parking lot.Wish they would have on their website how to get into the building.

Exceptional experience that exceeded our expectations. The greens and eggs were garden fresh, (picked today), and absolutely delicious. The music was outstanding! We felt transported to a more charming place and time - but in reality, we were here in Kansas City. (Apparently, we are cosmopolitan!)What talent! We felt so fortunate and blessed to be invited to attend the Garden Concert tonight. 5*

I wish there were more places like this around town. The service was friendly and sociable. It has a good feel to it. Food is similar to a place in San Francisco I liked.

Yikes...guess one must stick with the fried chicken sandwich. Got a burger to go today and had to throw it away. Really hard/old bun, drippy (slimily) sauce everywhere and worst? Completely raw. I don't mind a medium burger, but this was mush on a hard bun. It will be a long time before I return, or get this taste out of my mouth. Over $14.00 in the trash. UGH!

A nice little restaurant in the downtown area of Kansas City with the objective of running a business in a eco-friendly manner. Along the way, they provide good tasting food with smiling faces. As one approaches the restaurant, one will notice the nicely designed patio which has a charming little vegetable garden. The grocery store which is inside the restaurant offers hard to find items such as grains, seeds, relishes, pickles, jams, etc., and a few meat items.

Howard's is an extremely cute place to have lunch.Parking like always in downtown is extremely cumbersome, but there is about 5 or so areas near the resturant. Once you find parking walking into the resturant is refreshing as you get to walk through a garden area where Howard's grows some of what they sell. As you walk into the resturant to your right there are shelves that have many local products. Howard's does a great job changing their menu as well. We had the hamburger and BLT both amazing! The staff was very friendly and helpful in selections. We will for sure visit again.

Love little places like this! Everything definitely cooked fresh, with a small limited lunch menu allowing them to really focus on the few dishes they have and make them perfect. The burger was great, their homemade cheese wasn't my favorite, but still solid altogether. We also got the seasonal salad with a plain burger on the side, cause why not. The salad was tasty but not as standout as the burger. They seem to do rotating soups so we decided to try the Brussel Sprout, Chickpea, and Mushroom soup. Was a little thin, but I could eat it all day. Love the combination of ingredients they did in that one. The place itself has very limited seating, so you may find yourself sitting close to others if it is busy. They also sell local products and meats, will definitely go back sometime and try some of their different meat options. Overall while it is a little pricier, I would recommend for anyone looking for a great sandwich over lunch in the Crossroads area.

I've heard about this place through reviews and on yelp, but had never been. My wife and I were in the neighborhood on a sales call, so we decided to stop there for lunch. A very friendly man greeted us and explained the menu. That man was Mr. Howard the owner. I had read great things about the burger and the chicken sandwich. He suggested we get one of each and they would split it for us so my wife and I didn't need to split it at the table, Great Idea! We got a spot at the counter looking out on Oak St. and within 10 minutes our food arrived. I don't usually use superlatives, but holy moly that burger and chicken sandwich may be the best I've had! A side of hand cut fries accompanied the sandwiches. Even the ketchup was outstanding. Long and short, it's not the easiest place to find, but well worth the effort.
