We may have found our Tex-Mex home away from home. You get this far from the border and flavors start swinging all over the map. But Ixtapa has more of the flavors we like. The enchiladas, taco meat, chicken and rellenos ... and chips (crispy) with salsa are the best. We'll be back.
GET THE SWEET POTATO CHEESECAKE!!!! It’s so good! It honestly was one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever had, my coworkers and I inhaled 2 and we all got one to go as well. It’s speaks to the soul

Can I do 10 stars??? This was BY FAR my most favorite dining experience in Kansas City in years. The food - yes. The margaritas - absolutely. But the service?? IMPECCABLE! There is no other place. Every person working was attentive, worked as a team, it was next level unbelievable
Unfortunately we didn’t get the name of the owner, who made our evening so delightful, and who made suggestions for some fantastic dishes. Subtle and wonderful flavors predominated each dish and made for an unusual and delightful meal.

Ixtapa is a must-try! The chips and salsa were fresh and flavorful, and the steak tacos were absolutely amazing. The Queso Fundido was also a standout—rich and delicious. What really sets Ixtapa apart is how unique the food is compared to other Mexican restaurants. If you’re looking for a fresh, authentic experience and are in the area, definitely check it out!
