Jack Stack Barbecue - Plaza

It wasn't a place for us and won't return. Not to say it isn't good for others. We thought the jalapeño corn bread, loaded baked potato and baked beans were good. The baby back ribs were too salty, the brisket had no flavor without the sauce and the same goes for the sausage. We have found other establishments to better.

Come into town once a year, made a reservation months ago, get there on time have to wait to be seated for 20 minutes. Server was new, food took an hour and it was wrong and cold. Disappointing experience. Will find somewhere new next year.

I went to jack stacks a few weeks ago ordered carryout, I am also server at a local restaurant and had a very busy day so I didn't feel like cooking was emotionally drained as well from busy chaotic day, drove 20 min home and go to get our food out and the main course was not there, you talking about disappointment! So I called Jacks stacks explained my dilemma was placed on hold then ELI got on the phone apologized and 30 minutes later he arrived at my house with my food! Thats the best service I have ever heard offered and I been In Restaurant for over 35 years. THANKS ELI YOU SAVED THE DAY!! THAT WAS GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND!!

We’re from Texas so I was surprised by the “fancy” atmosphere at a barbecue place but this place was amazing.

We shared one of the family platters and it was all delicious. My mom and i loved the glazed baby back ribs.
Other favorites were the onion rings, corn bread and bbq shrimp and their coleslaw. Everything cooked perfectly and flavor was incredible.
This place is a solid BBQ joint.

I had a reservation for 6 last night. We were seated in the round large booth by the kitchen. It took 35 minutes after we ordered our appetizers to receive them despite the fact that we watched them sit at window for ages waiting for our server to pick them up. My bill was $300 and a few cents. A 20% tip would be $60, which given the server's inattention would have been generous. I gave her four $100 dollar bills. She took them and never came back with changed. We waited until we couldn't wait longer given it was game day. I also advised the hostess as we left the server stole $40 from me. Don't pay cash at this restaurant.

Chris was the best! His recommendations made our first BBQ experience in Kansas City incredible! Would highly recommend the shrimp, ribs, cornbread, carrot cake — honestly, everything!

Took granddaughter and her brother to Jack Stack for her birthday dinner. The Plaza location was the only one available for our desired date/time availability. It is probably the smallest of the locations and would have preferred either the Freight House location or the 87th St location, but this was fine. Arrived and waited a brief time for a table to be cleared. Server and server-trainee greeted us fairly quickly and took drink orders and we gave them an appetizer order right away, as well. After a brief period, ordered entrees and app arrived at table. Food for all four of us was awesome. I ordered my go-to Crown Prime Rib and beans. Everything was great. When the servers learned that the granddaughter was celebrating a birthday, they brought her a complimentary dessert. Nice touch! Another wonderful Jack Stack experience. Thanks!

magnificent absolutely fantastic barbecue! now understand what a wonderful surprise this was as a long-time Texan very familiar and acquainted with strong barbecue. this Kansas City barbecue experience was absolutely over the top. not only were all of the meats perfection, but the sides were masterful and possibly the biggest surprise was the elevated ambiance as well as excellent service. this was unexpected, delicious and downright fantastic - run don't walk to this establishment and do that running before you eat because afterward you're going to feel like you can't move from all this yummy goodness of in your tummy!
