The experience to visit a rotating restaurant was amazing but the food was very basic. The sushi was ok, but not the best I’ve ever had. I just found it too pricy for the quality. The concept of the restaurant was great and amusing and the fact that the servers were robots made it even cooler, but I honestly expected more of the sushi. To be honest it was similar to grocery store sushi.

Kura Sushi brings a fun and uniquely Japanese dining experience to Kansas City. The revolving conveyor belt, touch-screen ordering system, and prize game for every 5 plates add an entertaining touch that sets it apart from typical sushi restaurants.

I tried several dishes, including fatty tuna, salmon, scallops, sweet shrimp, seared beef with garlic chips, and specialty rolls topped with avocado and shrimp. The fish was fresh, and the quality was surprisingly good for a conveyor-belt sushi chain in the Midwest. The sweet shrimp and scallops were particularly impressive, while the seared beef sushi offered a nice change of pace.

The restaurant itself was clean, modern, and lively, with plenty of families and groups enjoying the experience. Service was minimal but efficient, since most orders are delivered directly to your table through the express lane.

While the sushi may not rival high-end restaurants in Japan, Kura succeeds in delivering authentic Japanese flavors and a playful atmosphere at a reasonable price. For Japanese expats or anyone craving casual sushi in Kansas City, it is one of the best options available.

Matcha soy pudding is fantastic!

Pretty expensive for the quality and service but the kids love the novelty so we have gone twice.

My sister and I visited Kansas City from Oregon. We came to Kura starving!!! The food along with the experience was great! If we visit Kansas city again we will be back!

Food is 10/10 Lately you have to specifically ask for wasabi from a server, it used to come with the water and i preferred the old way. I like the seasonal menu changes.

It is a cool place and the food was good. But there wasn't much to the selection. We ended up just ordering more of our food because the belt barely had anything on it.

Great time! Been to another sushi train type place and this place was judt tons better. Consistently keeping options on the belt. The only gripe was that it was very hot inside.

I was worried about not being able to open the plates.
So simple and they showed you a demo before seating you.
There is a screen where you can order drinks, ramen, noodles and plenty others.
The sesame balls were empty 3 times in a row so we just ordered a set right to our table. 😊
Drinks had free refills that were taken care of promptly.
We managed to eat 25 plates and got 2 prizes. Our second prize was the rare prize. It was definitely a sign to stop eating.
Everything was fresh and they keot the belts well stocked. Plenty of options even for dessert

The selection was a little disappointing on the sushi train. They were busy but the restaurant had gotten dirty, as in the floors had a lot of trash. We placed our order for drinks and didn’t get them until maybe 20 minutes later when a staff member came to check on another table.

This place was really good. The food was awesome and the price is good for how tasty it is.

Fun place to eat and the food was great. Particularly like the robot bringing drinks and the special order coming on it's own conveyor. Staff were super friendly too.

It's fun and should be experienced at least once. The fish shaped dessert in wonderful. The sushi however is just mediocre.

Listen kuras around the world are supposed to have a standard but the ks location is simply not worth it from the staff talking instead of bussing and the over load of reservations simple not worth it and remember you are in a land locked state so over all fish won't be so fresh
