The quintessential Kansas City BBQ experience. Generous portions, amazing flavors, soft tender meats. You're going to want to buy a whole bottle of their amazing sauce. The staff is friendly and helpful with recommendations. All for very affordable prices. Highly recommended!

When I think of quintessential Kansas City BBQ experiences, L.C.'s is what comes to mind. Absolutely no frills, just serious meats. The sliced pork sandwich is hefty enough to make two meals. If you're looking for all the smoke, just open the door at L.C.'s.

Okay but this place was POW-WOW! This must be what a KC BBQ “joint” is!
Love this place! Burnt ends and spicy green beans are the jam!!!
The wait was expedient and not too long, and the smoker is right there! I could watch it like an aquarium all day!

The wait time is horrendous!! placed my had a wait time of over 20 mins …. Then my order was wrong and she forgot to give me the slab I ordered. After going back to the counter to return the wrong order , the older white lady told the black lady with the braids to stop moving the receipts around on the counter and leave everything alone. The older right lady proceeds to then talk to a short black lady whispering something about my food. Then the short black lady asked me what I wanted and I told her I wanted my food replaced because they gave me the wrong food. The place was filled with so much smoking there. They opened the door to try to get it out, but that didn’t even help. When is smelling like platinum from Bath and body Works come out smelling like burnt barbecue never again.

The atmosphere is classic bbq, complete with a haze of smoke inside. Whole building is smoke stained inside and out, that should be of no surprise. Ribs were good, little heavy on the salt but not over the top, tenderness was good. I could definitely tell they were a longer cook because they had the red smoke ring almost all the way through and they were well done. If you like heavy smoke flavor on your bbq you will be a fan. The staff got me my order and it was correct, bbq places like this serve bbq not customer service… will be back.

Sad to say ,I went to get the rib tips and I tried the wings. Unfortunately my food was cold and the wings was under cooked. Just Terrible!

I picked up a slab today (11/01/2025) and was disappointed when I got home. The slab was burnt and tough. This was disappointing because I had a couple of leftover ribs from them earlier in the week and they were amazing. Today went from treating my wife to dinner to her cooking at this very moment. My wife said I should have taken them back, but it is a 25 minute drive. My response to her was they should have gotten it right the first time.

I used to tell my Texas fans they had worse BBQ than KC.... y'all let me down!
BBQ fan here, live for the stuff, both and raised in the south and eaten BBQ all over the country, I'm also a chef. I've got a healthy number of folks from in and around the KCMO area that have always said I gotta check out LC's if I'm ever in KC. So when we planned to stay in town on our way to Arkansas I knew where we were grabbing lunch or dinner at.
Respectfully, that was some of the roughest BBQ I've ever had. Rough soot and black smoke flavor + use of a good sauce to cover up bad meat. Our ribs were the only thing I'm saying was alright, once again that smoke flavor. The burnt ends were not great either, the pork ones were downright bad. It was more like chopped pork than burnt ends. Love the simple menu, the sauce is legit i would put that on everything, dope vibe for the most part, I went in expecting greatness instead got the worst sausages I've ever seen. Jokingly, someone gotta lose a few points off they credit score if that's what they think sausage is. I've had a ton of bad BBQ, especially considering we live in Colorado now....but this is actually worse than some of the stuff in the Rockies, I just believe there has to be something else in KC cuz this was a huge miss! And not having Mac and cheese at a BBQ spot is like not having bacon or ketchup at a burger joint

Great folks, this ain't the review I thought I would be leaving, definitely not a personal attack or anything meant to be super negative, food just lacked.

This place is the real deal! I was in town for work and first tried a fancier BBQ spot that starts with a Q and ends with a 39. It was good, but it didn’t feel like a truly authentic experience. LC’s, on the other hand, is what great BBQ is all about—rich, smoky flavor, amazing sauce, and generous portions. You can tell the staff take pride in their craft, and the customer service was excellent. Skip the hoity-toity stuff and grab some ribs at LC’s; you won’t regret it.

Ordered Turkey and was given ham. The place was busy and I didn't have time to wait for the correct sandwich. Super dry with only smoke flavor. It was busy so people seem to like it...just not my kind of place.

The food was good. The flavor of the ribs was PERFECT but they were just too charred. They were out of ontion rings which was disappointing, but the potato salad was decent.

Sandwiches are a lot smaller. You could taste vinegar in the baked beans. Pork ends didn't taste right sent it back.
