I don't like to post a negative review but just want to post an honest one. Ordered enchiladas. They look like taquitos very tiny & skinny. shells so thick & hard you could barely cut them & hardly any beef in them. Beef taco had a funny flavor. The sauce was like tomato sauce. Disappointing as we used to go there. Unfortunately, we not be returning.
.... Okay first off, we ordered margaritas. The service was great! The Margaritas tasted like trash, the margarita mixed seems to be diesel fuel and arsenic. We then received our salsa, it.... appeared to be marinara sauce but I wasn't sure because it was quite thin. Then we got the hot salsa. It was a little spicy but also marinara sauce. I then ordered another Margarita of a different sort, yet again tasted like fuel and arsenic. Not sure what kind of restaurant this is but 10 years ago, Nothing that I ate today taste the same. Also, by A la carte menu with your meat added to what you're actually buying like a torta really adds up at the end of the meal, there go, making the meal very expensive and not worth purchasing anything ever from this restaurant.

This was my go to for 10+ years. Food quality has gone way down. Sauce for the burrito tasted like spaghetti sauce. Tacos have barely any meet. And the burritos are miniature. I honestly dont know how theyre still open. Maybe the alcohol.

This is authentic! I am a margarita snob, and the skinny here is the best! Justin the adorable and friendly bartender fresh squeezes the limes right in front of you at happy hour. The prices are so reasonable that i had to double check compared to other restaurants just a few blocks away, and the food is fresh and very authentic. This Mexican restaurant should be on your list in your visit to KC!

Wow, I wont be back. They have changed the burrito spread and it's just slop. Bring back the old burrito spread. The pork used to be cooked in the sauce, now it's just boiled, no flavor.use to be smothered in cheese and sauce. The soupy beans had no salt in them. Everything was just gross. A staple place to go from childhood. The old owners need to come back and teach them how to cook. Will not return. Very, very sad!
It has gone down hill. You use to have to always wait to be seated because they were so busy. Not now, they have no business and I understand why.

Wow has this place changed …. Grin is run this joint now and it has just slowly went down hill .. was once a fav t idk if I will ever go back . Order the Mexican chili today when my order arrived it was a plate with a little bit of chili on one side, a bunch of rice in the middle and then beans on the other side. That is not how that Chili has ever been served. Portion sizes have gone to shit . Wish you the best another Another kc restaurant ran into the ground by corporate America…….sad day in K C

The food here is concerningly bad. I genuinely just want anyone who finds this place to know it is the furthest from authentic Mexican and not even edible quality gringo mexican food. Please don’t waste your money, and to the establishment, please pause and do something different

Oh dear. I used to love this place! Back in the 70's it was awesome! I had not been in years but a group of us went a few days ago and the margaritas were ok. The salsa tasted like it had been poured out of a spaghetti sauce jar, and the food was ok but nothing to write home about. It was a Sunday night and there were no other customers I could see.....maybe they weren't really prepared for customers. Very disappointing.

Love this place ! Hand made margaritas are top notch!
I should have known when we walked in and could smell food burning that we should have left. But we didn't we wanted to give them the benefit of the dought. When chips were brought to us they were standing in half an inch of grease of course we didn't know it until we got to the bottom. The salsa tasted like tomotoe sauce with no seasoning. The cheese sauce was nothing velvet's warmed up. The rice was dry the bean were okay but the flatas were dry and didn't taste good at all. Service was good. Knowing how this place used we were very disappointed seeing how is has gone down hill drastically from the previous owners. We will not go back again. I'd have been better eating at Taco Bell.
