Really disappointing experience. Our meals were dropped off with no check-in afterward, the drinks we ordered never came, and the service was extremely slow. It appeared to be an issue with our server, as other tables seemed to be doing fine. Unfortunately, I have no desire to ever come back.

Some things were great, the seared ahi, sea bass, filet. Parmesan crusted cod was terrible, hard to find the fish with way too much cheese. Took at least 15 mins to get drinks. Cappuccino was room temp, did not finish. Chocolate bag superb as usual. Broccolini was so tough I could hardly cut it with a steak knife. Did not eat it. Overall, very disappointing because the birthday girl got the bad fish. Kiera was our server, lovely, but she must have been stretched too thin because of delay in receiving drinks “they're working on those.” Probably too 20 mins for a Moscow mule. Should have been a lot better.

Level of professionalism could be elevated. We were seated in a high traffic area where staff was coming by with boxes and non essential items during dinner. Recommend doing this during off hours. Don't need to feel like I'm in an industrial park during dinner.

McCormick and Schmick's is our go to restaurant for special occasions. We enjoy the atmosphere, and events that they sponsor~all that make dining out meaningful, for these special times. Thank you~we will be back to celebrate once again! The Cheshers

My siblings and their spouses have gone to M&S in Kansas City for our annual dinner now for 7 years. Rich and his team always do an amazing job! From the private room to the amazing food, the entire experience is incredible! The staff is attentive to details and they met all of our requests with such great care! Thank you for an unforgettable experience! Note… don’t forget to try their signature dessert the chocolate bag!

6pm reservation. Party of four. Seated. Knew when it took 7-10 minutes before anyone came to our table something was off. Ordered artichoke dip appetizer. It came about 10 minutes later. More on that later. Placed our order before appetizer arrived. About 6:15-20. Salads and entrees. Appetizer arrived with four small pieces of toast, which seems very odd to have a large bowl of dip and very little to dip it with. We each ate one with the dip (was very tasty), but had over half the dip left, so asked politely if we could get some more. Waitress's exact answer, "Yeah give me a minute". Anyway, she brought back 10 minutes later 3 pieces of toast...Oh well. Finished salads, all very good. And then we waited. And waited. And waited. At 7:15 our waitress told us ours is coming up next. At 7:30 I went to hostess and asked to speak to the manager. As soon as I went back to the table with the manager and she left to find out what was going on, our food arrived. All lukewarm and obvious it had been under a heat lamp for way too long. Truffle mac and cheese that had the consistency of rubber. King crab that was luckily unaffected by sitting out too long. Fries stale and obviously been out of the frier for a long time, my daughters cheeseburger was also lukewarm and spent too much time under a heat lamp. My sons fish and chips were lukewarm and so salty hardly edible (and we like salt). Outside of sitting in a dark back room that felt like a small cabin on the Titantic with only a few other couples (all who got there after us but ate before we did), in the doorway were two bussing tubs full of dirty dishes, that sat there, right next to us, the entire meal. Not sure who dropped the ball, but it was dropped. They did "comp" us our entree's which was appreciated, but we went out for a nice evening, and it was anything but, other than the company at the table. Would have rather had great service and a good meal and paid full price.

Good experience at this restaurant. Got great value out of the happy hour menu, trying multiple dishes and sampling their offerings. Food was slightly above average, likely not valued properly if not using happy hour as the prices were expensive. Would recommend.

It was the first time that we were there for a Taco Tuesday. The fish tacos were delicious and, of course, their clam chowder is always great.

McCormick & Schmick’s is truly a Kansas City staple! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond — even accommodating a party of 20 for my daughter’s homecoming group with no reservation. That kind of service is rare and so appreciated.

I ordered the cedar-roasted salmon with sweet potato purée, and it was absolutely phenomenal — perfectly cooked, flavorful, and beautifully plated. The sweet potato purée was creamy, subtly sweet, and paired perfectly with the fish.

Their drinks are just as impressive — the strawberry mint lemonade is a must-try: refreshing, perfectly balanced, and a great non-alcoholic option that still feels special.

Between the exceptional food, thoughtful service, and welcoming atmosphere, McCormick & Schmick’s continues to prove why it’s a go-to in Kansas City for both special occasions and everyday dining. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My 22nd wedding anniversary was ruined. The ambience was horrible. We were seated by kitchen where I sat and watched employees eat and complain out in the public. The best thing on my ate was the mashed potatoes and those were hard. The waiter said they had no fried shrimp but when they asked how my meal was at end I advised I was disappointed. Somehow the manager was able to produce the fried shrimp I wanted. I got a creme brulee anniversary plate finally and it was horrible as well. The whole night was a disaster. I will never return.

I always enjoy dining at McCormick & Schmick's. Sat outside on the patio and had an incredible dining experience with my husband. A must try are the Bluepoint oysters!!
