Mudbug Cajun Po' Boys

I love a good Po boy but not everyone can make a good one. I would say this place was pretty good. I got the chicken Po boy with gumbo.

The chicken itself was well seasoned. It also came with a few sausage slices in top which were a bit dry. I’m probably the only one to say this but I felt like there was too much meat. It overpowered the holy trinity vegetables that are on there. I also really liked the bread they used which in my opinion can make or break a sandwich.

The gumbo was also well seasoned and I’ll for sure be back when it’s cold out for a big serving of it.

As someone who grew up on the Gulf, I can say this is as close as I've been able to get to good Cajun food without driving southeast until I hit white sand. The jambalaya and gumbo are top notch. The red beans and rice are nice and filling, especially if you get more than a side order.

First time visit. Seahog PoBoy is superb. Gumbo is fantastic. Clean and welcoming atmosphere. All around great experience. Will definitely be back !

I had the Shrimp Po Boy sandwich. There was plenty of shrimp sitting on a bed of purple slaw with polenta. Polenta is like a type of mush. The bread was slitely toasted and tasty. $

Parking: Plenty of parking....shaded and in front of restraunt.

We LOVE Mudbugs! We have been here several times and you just cannot beat their Red Fish po’boy! The counter service is always great and the food comes out fast. We love going to New Orleans and this is the closest you can get in KC!

This is our second time here and we got the shrimp Poboy with gumbo. It was awesome! And we are from Louisiana so we do know good Cajun food and this is actually better than some of the food we get back home.

I finally got to try the infamous Mudbug's and it was soooo delicious! Got the crab cake po boy, could only eat half but it was amazing, it pops with taste. The lemon pepper cole slaw was delicious and the chicken and andouille gumbo was perfect!! Will definitely be coming back!
