Great food/Atmosphere is good/Great drinks/Open on Sundays 11-4 p.m. Can also rent the place for weddings, parties etc

Vegetarian options: All of the vegan food is truly the best that I have had in a very long time.

Kid-friendliness: Children are always welcome!

Got the Poyboy, which was absolutely amazing and the fry seasoning is ?? Also has to tried the lemon cake for desert. I can’t imagine anything he makes isn’t amazing. He was super friendly while cooking up our lunch. Highly recommend stopping in for some amazing food at a good price with great company!

TRASH the food wasn’t edible and my cousin warned me not the eat there after they cooked her food in fish grease after she told the she had an allergy now I’m sick and going to the ER eat here is you want to get food poisoning and die!! Eating here is suicidal

I was invited to eat a meal by the chef himself and was blown away at the talent and meticulous taste he had for good food!He's a great conversation.. Takes pride in his work and customers. I didn't know what to expect but was shown a wonderful glimpse into the talent Chef Jah has and is willing to offer. I would recommend his food for any time of the day, for any occasion and will tell you from personal experience he is a master chef with a great atmosphere. Whether it's after a game or a special date like Valentine's.. Take yourself if you're hungry to Chef Jah! You won't be disappointed!

The customer service was great from the moment you walk in. Since it was our first time going we tried a few different things the shrimp pasta, Salmon Po'Boy and the KC Vegan Po'Boy. Everything was magnificently delicious, I haven't been this satisfied with a food purchase in a LONG time. Chef Jah hat's off to you brotha, you are definitely sharing the love with us with your food and we will definitely be coming back without a doubt.

Vegetarian options: The Vegan Po'Boy was amazing! Best in town hands down and there are plenty of other vegan options as well.

Upon walking in, this place immediately gave off a friendly and authentic environment. Food is excellent aswell!

Hidden in an old building in an old part of town my wife, my son and I found something truly amazing. Opal and Blue's has an experienced and passionate chef who serves up love with every dish of Ox Tails and Lamb Steak. Every dish served is prepared with a Chef's love of food, with flavors refined and perfectly blended. I'm fantasizing about the turnip greens right now.I have never had turnip greens that tasted anything like that before, so full of spices and the beauty of greens. The same was true of everything else, the cornbread, the Turkey leg, the peach cobbler. These are dishes one can get at lots of restaurants, yet you will never have had them made for you like Chef Jah.There is no ambiance at this restaurant yet because the place is still very new. It will take a minute for them to finish that side of the restaurant. But the food is world-class and it is possible to get this food right now in Kansas City. I still can't believe we found this place.
